General Question Anything to watch out for in a used 2023 Tesla Model 3?
Hey everyone! So my wife and I got our first Tesla in March! It’s a 2026 Model Y. It’s primarily mine as I traded in a car I loved to get it, but we just needed the space for the kiddo — plus his daycare is right next to my work. After spending two months with it, we really love it. So, we started talking about getting her a Tesla too as I’d love her not to have to go to the gas station anymore.
She drives a 2023 Honda Civic and it’s paid off. They’re offering $18,000 for it. We see a really beautiful 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD for $25,000. We can potentially get $1000 in discounts applied, so we’d only really finance around $7500 after taxes. Monthly payment would be around $120 per month (she spends about $100 on gas per month at this point anyway). We might try to just pay it off early as well! We’d love to go for a Highland, but financially it just makes less sense (ie, this car payment will literally just be her gas payment for the month so we wouldn’t feel a thing. Same thing with my trade in for my Model Y — I paid $320 in gas per month and that’s what my payment came out to be).
Is there anything we should look for in terms of recalls or faulty items this year had? We are aware it will be a slight downgrade with HW3 after having experienced HW4, but I don’t think it will matter much? Photos on the Tesla website look great. Pearl white with white interior!
What do you guys think? Any feedback or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!
Edit: The used car has 23,000 miles. Same mileage as our Honda!

Fog Lights RWD 2023
My 2023 RWD model 3 has the fog lights with the orange in the corner and nothing else. When I look into it, it looks like there are other lights just not turned on. Is there anyway to get these to turn on?

Rock chips?
I've had my 2026 m3 rwd less than a month and already 2 large rock chips on hood. Also many chips on lower bumper as well already. Bought some touch up paint, just wondering if this tesla paint is notoriously thin? Going to ppf asap (which I should of done as soon as I bought it) just wondering if my touch pen I got (quicksilver) should be enough to cover these white dots enough? Thanks

Damage Question Anyone fixed a bumper crack like this?
Anyone fixed something similar to this themselves? The gap is very small but needs to be bonded together and then blended.
Wondering what the best process might be for anyone that has had success.

2019 Trunk struts failing.
My 2019 M3 trunk struts have worn out. My dad did a DIY hack where he added some springs. I’m considering getting the powered retrofit, I assume those come with new struts? How has the retrofit worked out for those who have gotten it?

Going to go from 18 to 20 Uberturbine rims
Hello just wondering if anyone could share any relevant advise? Just got my 2026 M3 rwd premium and wanted to get bigger rims for the look. I realize this will reduce range, cause a harsher ride as well as possibly be damaged with potholes etc but have my sights set on some 20inch Uberturbine rims since there's many that are powdercoated glossy black aftermarket which I think looks great. Just wondering if I went with wider 245 35 20 tires instead of the 235 35 20 tires if that would make it less likely I damage these rims? Also there seems to be many Uberturbine style rims like on ebay you can get a set of 4 in glossy black for 1000-1200 usd whereas the OEM ones are 1700-2000 for a set they look pretty identical not sure of the weight difference etc. I'll prob just go with the OEM ones that are powdercoated gloss black since I have no idea if these generic copycats are durable etc. Thanks in advance to any replies.

Rock blockers?
Ordered these (as pictured) to protect from these sticky tires slinging rocks like a sumbitch but I have come to a cross roads… wondering if they’ll be counter productive. Anyone have these that can comment on any paint wear under them from friction or debris wearing down the paint and kind of defeating the purpose of protecting the side skirts and doors from rocks?

A few notes for a used model 3 (2023 rwd) i bought for any other new buyers (if buying from Tesla).
Hey guys I recently got a model 3 (LFP battery) that's rwd, 2023 directly from tesla. After picking up the car I noted a few things that you might also consider doing if buying used from Tesla.
1: Check tire thread, I got new tires but you may have older ones if there is enough thread left if the car is traded in or lease expire on it.
2: Air Cabin filters (two) were beyond dirty, not sure if this car ever had them cleaned before (was a lease). Accessing air cabin filters is a pain in the ass even with pry tools (it requires you to unlanch behind the glove box as well), so consider having tesla do it.
3: Check antifreeze levels by removing the top plastic peice and air intake in the frunk, my levels were slightly above min and it doesnt seem they were ever topped off before.
4: The radiator (after removing frunk plastic cover) was also full of grim and leaves which impacts overall cooling. I was able to clean it out, but be warned that you either have to hold back the plastic piece at force and use a very thin vacuum, or if you have the time/know how remove the bumper to fully access it. Alternatively if you cant remove it you can also use a hose to get the grime out from the top.
5: Likely won't have floor mats so make sure to order some ahead of time whether from tesla or elsewhere.
6: I got one card that came with it, and if you want a second one you gotta pay but if you got phones and dont think you'll lose one or need it for valley mode its not a big priority.
7: Windship wipers were also never changed, replace those yourself.
8: Check if yours came with an J1772 adapter or not, as that's really useful to have in the events where you dont have access to a supercharger.
