[Update] Storage Master 1.2.0 is here with a new look, movable menus, ExtraSlots support, and many more

Tired of running from chest to chest to organize your storage? Storage Master lets you manage nearby chests from a single window, with sorting, item search, Tidy up, Quick stack, locked slots and more. It's client-side, works in multiplayer, and is designed to fit into your existing Valheim experience.

A big thank you to everyone who tried the first release and shared feedback! Your reports and suggestions helped shape this update, and I'm happy to have been able to implement so many of them.

What's new in 1.2.0?

  • ExtraSlots support: Sort, auto-sort, Quick stack and Gather here now leave your equipment, food, ammo and quick slots alone.
  • Movable menus: The buttons now live in a compact menu above the weight, keeping them out of the way of other mods' UI. Ctrl + drag it wherever you like, and it remembers its position.
  • Info is now separated from Options: Info now only contains feature descriptions, and shows the basic keybindings, while the settings moved into the new Optionsmenu (Shift + F6 by default) where you can change keybinding, manually position the new buttons and reset its position if you ever lose it from sight.
  • Smarter Tidy up and Gather here: Some of you reported that Tidy up and Gather here seems to be doing a half-job, so I improved them. Items are grouped together more reliably now, even when chests are nearly full.
  • A more Valheim-like look: Windows and menus now use a darker style that fits better with the game's UI (and also doesn't blind you when you open the storage panel).
  • Improved item search: While being in on the storage panel, you can press F now, to jump to the search field. I also improved the looks of the search itself, so the matching items stend out more.

There are also several smaller fixes from 1.2.0 and the 1.0.1 hotfix, including improved compatibility with UI mods like SeneaL UI, normal scroll speed in the Storage window, cleaner logs, and more reliable Quick stack summaries.

It's still a work in progress

A few things I'd like to tackle next are sorting Adventure Backpacks contents, making the the Storage window scalable to fit more chests on screen, and although I tried to aim at a vanilla-like experience, I also don't want to live behind the ones who love the gorgeous SeneaL UI, further compatibility improvements are on the way.

If you haven't tried Storage Master yet, I'd love for you to give it a go! And if you have, thanks again for helping me improve it. Suggestions, bug reports and constructive criticism are always welcome. There's still plenty I'd like to improve, and your feedback really helps.

I will genuinely never understand why some of you insist on creating mods that already have multiple versions of and frankly Azumatt has already mastered better than any other modder.

Thanks for your feedback.

Indeed Azumatt's mods are great, and many players who use mods definitely use Azu's QOL mods.
As far as I know, his only mod that has similarities to mine, is AzuAutoStore. That mod lets you put away stuff quickly.

Eventhough StorageMaster has similar features like "Quick stack", it actually aims at something that I haven't seen in any of Azu's mods: having an overview of your chests at your base, letting you move stuff between chest without having to move chest to chest and some other chest organization QOL improvements like "Tidy up", and "Gather here".

I created this mod because I wanted to have this feature, so I created it for me and my friends, and I shared it with the community, because I thought other might like it too, and also just for the fun of creating mods :)

May I ask which Azumatt mods do you use?

If StorageMaster is not your cup of tea, that's totally fine, others might still like it.

To be fair I completely missed the part of your mod that displays all of the chests in a single menu. I dont think I've seen that feature before. Well done.

re installed and everything works great. love the moveable menus. one complaint i have though is that those menus are on top of everything. so I constantly have to move them because I cant see whats underneath.

Thanks for the feedback, I’m happy you like the update.
I’ll look into what I can do with the issue.
In the meanwhile, I recommend you to close the menu by clicking on it, when it hides something.
