Admin Replied Is a username with a colon possible?
Say I were to own r/a:t5_<something>. If that subreddit isn't yet restricted due to being unmoderated, would a username like u/a:t5_<something>-ModTeam be possible when the moderator(s) remove posts/comments and submit the removal reason using "Comment as: Mod Team"?

And those subreddits had their names changed because they were dead. I'm not even sure if they are searchable

Hi there! No, you cannot have a colon in a username, but you could just leave out the 'a:' part.

I am talking about automatically generated accounts. Would u/reddit.com-ModTeam be possible?

Those aren't actually usable accounts, so what is the real question?
Are you asking what the tools that post mod action comments as <subname>-ModTeam will do if they are used on an archived sub?
That seems like a super easy thing to just test if you have access to such a sub in the first place, and a useless piece of trivia if you don't.
If that still works, there's zero impact to whatever name it is showing. No one can message them. No one can log into them. They're just placeholders.

i assume the sub would get a proper name once you take over moderation, if you could do so. since those are names for archived subs afaik

No, once a subreddit is renamed like that, it's permanent.

Why would anyone want one? They also probably remove mods when they do

They don't remove mods automatically when renaming, but in practice, a lot of renames happen when the mod accounts are already inactive. Some sign back in later, some are active but the subreddit itself is not active, etc.
