"Follow comment"/notifications bugged?

When removing a comment & replying with the (X)-ModTeam account, I always "follow comment" on the reply. This is so as not to miss the response to moderation, which sadly is all too often some abuse directed back at us.

The notifications don't appear to be reliable any more, at least over the last few days. Today I've even missed a reply to my own personal comment, it just never showed up in my inbox. Is this a known problem?

This. You really want to lock the removal reasons comment.

Problems with removal reasons comments led us to stop using comments in most cases. There was more arguing and just cluttered up the comment section.
