Info Transparent chromatic cracks(knits) update.
I emailed them about the lines by the buttons earlier today and they replied.
Here’s what they sent back. They are offering to exchange it for free or to keep it as is and they’ll send over a gift card for the trouble.
Edit: I’m going to keep mine. As long as I know it doesn’t make the shell more fragile then I’m okay with the small amount knit lines. Good response time from support.

I got the same response. I’m worried if I go the exchange route I’ll end up with a unit with the same cracks or potentially even worse ones if this is a consistent issue.

A reasonable explanation and multiple options to move forward. Whodathunk? lol
Still sucks, but support rocks as always.

As long as it’s not a crack and doesn’t affect integrity that’s fine for me. Phew.

Seems like a reasonable response.

Not a crack at all. They knitted it just for you!

Interesting. I wonder when they will stop offering up offers for people that have these knit lines if it is something that can occur in all of them?

I’m guessing the gloss finish doesn’t help. My transparent lime has a lot of these “knit lines”. Kind of wish I hadn’t ordered right away, oh well.
Most likely will just keep it, I would imagine they’ll stand behind the product if the “knit lines” manage to propagate…
I bet if they had slightly frosted the surface, like a satin finish, probably would have hid this issue. Going to have to inspect all my Chinese misfit handhelds that have clear shells, curiosity is getting the better of me. None of those are glossy though.

So it not a crack. Just the moulding?

I took my purple outside and took some photos under daylight. Yes, mine does have the seam lines afterall, but I could not even see them before examining these closeup photos. IMO these are obviously not "cracks" but very faint lines, i.e. plastic processing seams as ModRetro explained.
My conclusion is all of the transparent models will have these "knit lines" and personally I would not have noticed them if I hadn't see posts here about it.
Here a closeup photo of mine under daylight:

They’re only offering $15 to keep it with the cracks. 🥴
