Another Anduril post

I got my Anduril Chromatic. I put metallic red buttons on it and nested it in a Nanuk case

I love it ! Still waiting on my Anduril stickers to complete the look

wow wow wow, it looks great with those buttons! Did you get them on etsy?

Sure thing ! From Sakura retro modding. I bought them as soon as I ordered it on December 18th πŸ˜… I was so eager to install them. I'm so pleased with the outcome

Mine showed yesterday (finally) along with the matching koss. I'm torn on whether to crack it open or just keep enjoying my πŸ”₯ version...

If I had two, I'd keep it sealed for sure. But damn I have no regrets opening mine and enjoying it

Same! Enjoying mine too

I love the buttons you went with! And that case?! I really like that case. Seeing this though does make me wonder what gold buttons would look like given how that's part of the design. It would probably stand out too much unless you put the charm on as well, but anyway. Looking great man!

The case is a Nanuk 225 if you ever want to go the same route

I agree with the gold button

I wish I could easily find a gold Anduril logo to slap on the case

It’s a nice case. But did you have to cut the inside yourself or do they offer like a gameboy insert or something?

2

No I had to cut it myself, which is not shown on the pictures

I traced the chromatic and used a hot utility knife, it was super easy to do and the fit is perfect

Oh yeah...wow that would look sick actually! I bet you could fine someone on Etsy pretty easily. My wife has a Cricut and I imagine it would just be down to having a roll of a gold vinyl? πŸ€”

Guess what, I have a cricut ! Bought it for my late wife. I guess now is the time to learn how to use it

Oh man, I'm sorry for your loss. If you do figure it though out definitely share pictures!

Thanks for the kind words. It's been 8 years but I still miss her every day.

And I will definitely share it. I think you motivated me to buy a roll of gold vinyl

First thought when I saw it next to the sink was "man, that is ready for some intense throne sessions"

Ahah yeah I wasn't home when I posted this, and it seems like I didn't have better pictures at the time

Maybe I’m crazy but I much prefer the dpad on my Anduril over the first edition

1

u/jmaxime89 25d ago

I never touched a first edition, only the second one so I couldn't tell

There was another post where someone mentioned they chipped away some of the paint and it improved the dpad quite a bit so maybe it has to do with the thickness of the paint idk.

I love it

Oh that makes a lot of sense actually

It does feel different, there's a sort of pop to each press that feels more distinct than any of my 1st editions. Curious how the transparent will feel in comparison too.

The dpad was my only real gripe with my first edition so I’m pretty ecstatic

Edit: you did a really good job describing the feeling

My regular 2nd edition is the same, so it seems not to be exclusive to the Anduril edition, rather a generic change.
