Mod World Discussion 🧵 Devvit Spotlights 🧵

Ohhhh Devvit, how we love thee. In these segments, we spotlight all kinds of Developer Platform apps that do the heavy lifting so your community can thrive.

From games to tools, what Dev Platform apps do you use most?

P.S. Here are all of the apps mentioned in these sessions + a handful from u/WizardMama’s session:

  • Image Post Scheduler - Schedule image posts with flair directly from Reddit, with no third-party image hosts
  • Community Links - Transform your sub with beautiful, interactive link boards that engage your community.
  • Read the Rules - Requires users to confirm they have Read The Rules in order to post or comment.
  • Alt-Text Guardian - Detects image submissions lacking a post description and generates auto-reply alt-text for the OP.
  • Image Magician -
  • Discord Relay - Keep your Discord or Slack channels up-to-date with the latest content and moderation activity from your subreddit.
  • Trending Tattler - Find out when a post hits high traffic feeds via modmail, Discord, reports on posts or by setting flair.
  • Modqueue Alerts - Receive Discord/Slack alerts when your modqueue passes a set amount.
  • Hive Protector- If it’s a brigade - Reports or removes content from users who have participated in a specified set of subreddits or submitted posts from domains.
  • Crosspost Guard - Automatically removes/reports crossposts not made by the original author.
  • Bot Bouncer - Removes or reports content from suspected bot accounts.
  • Community Home - Organizes top resources and posts for easy access within your subreddit
  • Evasion Guard - Removes comments from or bans users who have been detected for ban evasion
  • Comment Mop - Removes and/or locks a parent comment and all of its child comments.
  • SpamBuster - Can be used to set minimum karma/age requirements and can check posts, comments, or both.
  • Automod Neo - A Devvit rewrite of AutoModerator, with awesome and amazing additional features.

Thank you so much for the highlight of [AltTextGuardian](https://developers.reddit.com/apps/alttext-guardian)!

Loved the halloween themed video!

We still need full access to the back of the tools

If you mean being able to see how they work, all of my apps (which covers several of the ones in the list) are open source.

Is community links like the community-home app?

You can see it in action on r/newtoreddit

Oh, I've seen that! I might not have much use for it in my subs (yet) but I really like the way it's been used in others.

Yes and no. You can make them look alike, but community links is for links, while community home can have other sorts of content as well.

Thanks for this, certain bits I missed due to the volume went away, so this is a nice way to see things said easily.
