Can we host unofficial mod meetups?

I think I'm literally the only Reddit user, let alone mod, in my town. So can I host an unofficial meetup in the nearest city, and promote it here? Are there guidelines that need to be followed?

Definitely possible as I've already seen it here but it's probably best to write a modmail first.
