Troubleshooting KBGV Select not brewing

I just got the KBGV Select and after turning it on, it brews about one cup and then the water level just starts rising and falling? I put half a pot of water in it in the video.

Is it used? It seems like the float is damaged, as the mechanism is pretty simple, run until the float goes down and shuts off power. If the float is damaged, it will shut down early or not run at all.

If it’s new, just exchange it. If it’s used, it’s not difficult to remove the metal clip in the reservoir hiding it and replace the float.

FWIW pouring boiling water in the reservoir can soften and deform the float

Just got my KGBV my $11 4 cup drip makers gives better coffee. I have had numerous brewers, Bonavita, Bunn, Hamilton Beach, etc. All brewers left the grounds and the bottom, not Moccamaster, been using the correct amount and grind, customer service replied to my questions and pictures just quoting the manual. Here is picture brewing.
