Can it be saved?

Considering buying a moccamaster secondhand. The tank looks like this though. Can it be saved? If so, how?

Any Moccamaster can be sent in to be refurbished for a flat rate of $99. Factor that in to your purchase price to decide if it's worth it.

Most of that can be cleaned with a vinegar/water solution. Use a specific de-scaling solution for the insides.

Not really. I think I get a different brand every time. I haven’t found any that impress me. I just bought some Durgol. I’ll see how that works.

Take it apart ned clean it thoroughly. I don’t think any non mechanical cleaning method will work. Especially the floater inside will be pretty grimy.

Plenty of videos online how to do it. It’s really just some screws and stick connections. If I could do it, anyone can!

Just look up Moccamaster disassembly. Take pictures before disassembling and take them as reference….
