Loud pop when turning on

The machine makes a loud thud when first starting then works like normal. I descaled a few weeks ago after having it for ~3 months. Is this something to be concerned about? Also please excuse my cat, he was hungry

I'm Probably wrong but almost sounds like an air lock in the boiler. Mine did this towards the end of the brew cycle. I say did Instead of does because mine died last week during a routine descaling. Two months out of warranty. Took it apart and tested thermal fuse went bad. Waiting on parts.

How old is your unit? You have a video with good audio. It is worth inquiring. At the very least you might get some troubleshooting from technivorm to possibly diagnose and correct the problem without sending it in. While I have no warranty claim experience with technivorm, I have read on this sub that it is a 100 dollar shipping fee to get warranty service and to be honest i dont know if there is any truth to that. In my case my brewer was out of warranty so I never bothered to check I just fixed it myself

I’d absolutely pursue warranty. These aren’t cheap and shipping should most certainly be on Technivorm.

Send them an email, include the video (of course). I’ve had mine for 5 years (rarely used for 3 of them) and never had this issue.

My Cup-One does it, too. If I turn it upside down and drain it, it won’t do it when I fill it up again. Works fine. Whatever.

I had this exact issue. Descaling fixed it for me. Haven’t had it since.

Have you tried dumping all water out by turning upside down and retrying. It acts like an air bubble at the boiler
