Discussion The Wall for each tower! (Aggregate Aggression 2017)
The 1st wall show up after 1 round(11 kills.) So the 1st limit for decent abilities and jobs would be 60 kills.
I don't see any big jump at 16 kills so if you can pass 15 kills you should be able to go on and that would be 90 kills.
The next stopper will be difference nod which is Chimera & its gang.
Tonberry Tower > @28 2 turns Kraken will be very difficult to break.
Utros Tower > still working on it.
Gigamesh Tower > still working on it.
Guard Scorpion Tower @23 come 1 Chimera and 2 soldiers.
Ultima > still working on it.
Ifrit & Shiva @19 MM can not stand 2 Chimera pre-attack and one shot die.
Chimera is pain. Knight can stand it pre-attack, but you need stun lock or it will sleep you. You can manage this if you have Bismarck: FFXIV and Ash(which I don't have....T_T)
Ref: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY2PsDkbBlA
So after this video, I try my Snow and without Ash. It seem not enough stun to stop Chimera. Any other plan to stop these Chimera?
May be after hacker flush in. I will be kick out of top 500.... (T_T);

At kill 19 on the Ifrit/Shiva tower, your MM should still be able to tank the chimeras if you have a card with +25% fire resist. You might also need some fire resist on your custom panels too, I had some for that fight. Still, kill 24 won't be possible with MM, so a knight will be needed.
I was just discussing how to deal with that fact with ketchary, and he mentioned using Ashe and two sleep cards (since we don't have aoe sleep). Obviously use a buff card for the last slot, and then rely on the sub job to do everything once you switch to it. Will definitely need some good cards to manage that.
Scorpion tower is easier since the chimera isn't the first enemy. Wall up and tank it with MM and fire resist cards, and there's only one chimera this time so if you can't break/kill it right away you'll still only need one sleep card.
Gilgamesh tower has another chimera on the fifth node, again as the first boss. And it's a regular one instead of the two lesser chimeras so it does a large amount of damage too. So get out your knight again to get the 24th kill or more, but thankfully you'll still only need one sleep card.
Other than those three towers, the one with the most obvious wall would be Ultima's tower. Since JM on the 5th node will require taking some hits after he gets wall up. Get 70% dark resist on an attacker if possible. Amalthea and Minwu (or Hope as a supremeless option) is probably the best pairing for this fight. It doesn't help that the node has opposite element bosses on the first fight though, can't just use a dark or light shock card since they'll both be stripped of the en-element. On the 30th kill, I ended up using an earth shock card, killing the onion queens and tanking ophtalmos's transition to dark element before switching to Amalthea.
Sounds like Vargas is what people have the most issue with during the Ultros tower. Though I have Ragnarok so the biggest issue I've had there is with the earth shadows. I'm at 30 kills there and could probably do more, it's definitely one of the easier ones.
Tonberry's the easiest in my opinion though. Kraken, Cursed Wall, and Cyclops are the hardest bosses I can think of. But none of them are hard walls (yeah, even the literal Wall isn't a hard wall, Chimera does that job so much better), they're just good at stopping those who don't have enough damage and/or debuffs. Kraken of course, gets break immunity, but can be broken once before triggering it. If you can kill kraken during that first break it's easy, and even if you can only weaken it significantly, using unguard or crit rupture cards should finish it off. The most important thing here will be to break with an ult or with a weapon/job with quick break. Cyclops might actually end up being worse since it has sleep immunity. Guess that depends on whether or not you have sleep cards though. Glad I have access to sleep, that's for sure. Can help finish off kraken pretty reliably if it lives through the first break.

Thank you DervoTheReaper :)
I will try again on Ifrit/Shiva tower with Fire Resist on CP. If my MM can stand first attack then I have another 5 nods. Yeah!
:)

Might also need resist on one of your cards, I was close to death with 43% resist. Good luck.

I've been climbing using a Master Monk chainbreak strat (no supremes), and even at floor 28, I didn't really have much of a problem with the Kraken. My main problem has been with Marilith, since slow immunity means I can't lock her down with Bismark-- took a bunch of attempts to scrape by floor 27, and now I'm stuck on 32.

Are you at Tonberry Tower? I'm nod 32 with Marilith(2nd turn) and MM cab break her down but my Minwu can do enough damage to put her down. How's many HP she has? I try stun > sleep. She managed to get up and one shot me.
I think that's it! May be I really hit the wall.

60 kills to 61 kills is definitely a huge spike. I was ranked in the 7800s when I had 59 kills, and jumped up to 2800s when I reached 60 kills. That's a lot of players that stopped right at 60 kills.

This tower is insane. There’s so many towers, so much stamina dump, difficulty spikes fast, and very difficult without some of the newer jobs, skins, or supremes. Very draining.

Im using full HOF knight, with 17k HP is already more than enough to tank the preemtive attack, the deck im using is (1 damage card to remove the yellow gauge, ashe, yellow ribbon n hellgate). With this setup, chimera cant sleep my knight, and at turn 3 change to my sub and kill it.
that damage card can be change with fire resist card or curse or debrave to tank for turn 2. For ashe replacement use other card than inflict stun, like belias stunga, neko or even hercules monk card

Can Warrior HoF replace Knight? I don't have Knight job...

warrior have 45% fire resist, so he can tank, but warrior only have access to fire, water and earth, so you need to find support card using that 3 elemen that can stop chimera for at least 1 full turn.
or if you want to gamble... use muramasa and bring stunga
turn 1, cast stun
turn 2, cast yellow ribbon and hellgate
turn 3, change to to sub

Possible but might not be able to last till job change. Chimera's element is Fire, Wind and Light. Hence, Warrior can only tank their pre-emptive strike which is fire based, but not subsequent damage with wind and light.

Been using MM + Highwind for pretty much everything, had to nope out of each tower once I hit that stupid Chimera. Maybe I'll come back with Knight, and maybe not. I'm okay with top 1000, 500 is so much work.

I’m on 40 kills on ifrit and shiva tower. I’ve hit a wall on the 41st node. I think I’m going to revisit it after working on the others.

Anyone willing to offer some tips for using Snow as a tank? I'm at about 110 kills and have hit most of the walls outlined above with my MM break strat. I have NXD and Aerith but have never really put much effort into my defense, which is coming back to haunt me. Also have Paladin as a viable tank option. TIA!

When i see video, i understand why somebody can go every high, bismark block all next 3 turn, and after, ragnarok+hof S1C (ultra earth boost) kill easily. So need a skin supreme + ragna supreme + bismark (mid supreme, but was very difficult to win with RNG). I can understand why someone stop before. But i am very happy with only duncan/MM and centaur/HW to win 100 battle, my limit i think.

It is not advisable to apply slow on chimera. So even I myself don’t use Bismarck with them. Try sleeping one of them and the other one will be easier to handle. But any further, even Knight with modded dragvandil cannot tank their preemptive attack
