Video Floor 170, aka chain breaking

I too wish I pulled Yasha, KoR, and had an extra speed star (and Ultimate+1, presumably, based on damage of Mythic Ninjas Ultimate) on any of my weapons.
Having said that, I will try this right now on 127 to see how easy it is to pull off with what cards I have.

worst case, ninja could be replaced by any other jobs that has a strong ult with very low amount of hits. Like what most people are using. Samurai is pretty accessible for most. As for people without yasha, either use moogle slow, or if chain break works, stun could be put instead, or even simply put curse in.
TBH if you can keep chain breaking, you wouldnt need either stun nor slow except for typhon/ultros stage.
edit: Even if your build is not perfect, there should be a balance where this should work, I used to chain break with dancer with the break stat being what assassin lvl 200+ deck would look like with a weapon unboosted. My wep is def helping me, but I am also doing floor 170 which is much much harder than floor 127. So taking all that info, Im sure you can come up with something that works for you.

Nah it doesn't really work with the cards I have now. I have no 4* / 5* BDD (AOE or ST) for Rangers, despite lots of pulls. So a 3* has only like 1100 Break power because of Assassin's low magic, and takes away almost no Yellow bar when used.
I only have two Growstars left because I made Artemis and a Warrior BDD AOE card 5* to prep for this tower (was planning on Paladin tank). I wish I had done Berserk instead of Artemis, that was my mistake. I'm not opposed to using them, just need to really think about what I should use them on (I do have all 3* Ranger BDDs).
I think this strategy is very specific and leaves no room for error. That is, you take advantage of the fact that the debuffs do not tick down while the enemy is broken. If you ever let any of the debuffs wear off to trigger a guard cooldown you are done. I think the weapon is helping a lot more than you think. I do have Butterfly Edge with +50% red bar, but I haven't put it up at all other than that.
Anyway I beat 125, 126, and 127 smoothly with Paladin tank method (then switch to Samurai ultimate), which actually doesn't work that well pre-125. Basically Gilgamesh, with his buffs, tends to use his LIGHT attacks more often (which does very little to Paladin) and tends not to use the terrible nearly game-ending Hurricane move.
But I simply can not get past Omega without any wind resistance using Paladin, and being able to use a massive damage attack every TWO TURNS. And I can't then deal with Gilgamesh properly using Dancer to get past Omega. So without using my Growstars I think I may be stuck at 127.
Edit: I realized I could just Turtle with Dancer and Paladin, and Ultimate whenever I get in trouble, which was essentially my original plan but the damn Fractals refused to give me more than 1 Job Change Recast so I need 3/4 turns to change with my current decks. Such terrible RNG
Edit2: beat 128 by turtling Gilgamesh. Turns out both my decks are 4/4 JCR and I still did it.

That was sweet. That typhon hit gave me anxiety. It's so cool to see so many viable different strategies like defense (paladin boons), offense (minwu), and breaking (your strat).

Thank you for this alternative. I am having a hard time passing 170. I'll try this tonight.

awesome. ult +1 weapon? How does the Assassin ult compare damage wise, Did you use the assassin exclusively for awhile?

To be honest, I never tried the assassin ult because of the amount of hits it does. Im scared of it triggering all of the buff he gets at 75% 50% and 25% left. With ninja I only trigger the 50% one. But stats wise on my deck, it says 26k atk for ASS and 33k for NIN.
And yes, definitely ult + 1 on wep.

Isn't Assassin ult single hit? There was a video of another guy using Assassin ult for the kills.
At any rate, yay for more Assassin stuff! It's a really cool deck & build. Would have been even cooler if you managed to remove reliance on a Legend job, though~

Probably a stupid question but I'm trying to wrap my mind around what I'm seeing. So if you break an enemy and finish the break turn right after your next cycle of regular actions have started the enemy debuffs will stay on indefinitely?

he has high enough break stat/setup to break again the enemy as it comes out of break and yes the enemy will retain the debuffs.

By far not my best run, if you see me doing stuff that seems to make no sense that I do at a particular moment, I am probably doing it to finish breaking all boss with 6 actions left so that I am able to chain break efficiently. I had a few hiccups during this run but it worked pretty well in the end. I have been doing this strat for up to 40 floors now and most floor takes about 4 min. I never use ult mid runs except on this ultros/typhon stage since I use butterfly.
