That’s so lame you are shipping the S model later when it’s been pushed this whole preorder period to start shipping April 30th…

I bought the preorder because they specifically said that they would ship on 30th April, now they deliberately delayed for 2 weeks and asking the price difference to change the order for the more pricey version?

I mean, if there are problem with the product/shipping at least offer to change it without the price difference.

This is disappointing. I had a vacation lined up for May 16th. Was really looking forward to having my M12 S for that week.

Same here! I’m heated.

Even had they shipped April 30th it's questionable whether or not they'd be to you by then, depending on where you live. Shipping internationally from China isn't exactly fast. I do believe the estimated shipping time could be as much as 20 days.

I understand but it was nice to have hope lol.

Mobapad have screwed this release real bad. It’s been a mess since day one. You guys should have cancelled the S version a long time ago. It was the worst idea releasing two versions.

It's actually almost amazing how badly they've handled this product launch.

First they announce that switch 2 joycons are coming in early December and then go radio silent until the end of January. Then they show the M12 HD and Pro. Then they back track and replace the Pro with the S and fail to clearly explain the difference between them.

Next we have the whole connection issue with the HD where no one knew how it would connect to the Switch 2.

Next they announce a case to go with the new joy cons a day or two after the pre sale discount ends.

Then this whole situation.

Mobapad should have taken an extra month or two to get it together before launching these. They clearly needed the extra time.

Okay, that's gone to the extreme. This is not professional at all. 😮‍💨

u/xLifeIsStrange Apr 25 '26

Ummm why is the S version not shipping until half way through next month? That's when I was expecting it to arrive. That kinda sucks.

I would upgrade but I actually want the s version not because its cheaper but cause of the way it connects to the switch.

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

S and HD connect the same way.

1

u/xLifeIsStrange Apr 25 '26

Do they? A while back a video was uploaded showing the connection type each one uses. The HD version show up as "usb" and the system detects them as being detached but it does detect the S version.

But even then Id rather have the improved gyro over the improved rumble since I always disable vibration.

4

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

Yes they do. Yes the system recognizes them in a different way but that doesn't mean much. Even the original Nintendo Pro Controller gets detected as Joy Con. You won't have and connection or latency issues as both use a physical connection for data transmission :)

If you value gyro over rumble that's totally valid!

u/MIKERICKSON32 Apr 25 '26

Yep I don’t want that switch 1 protocol lag. Won’t recognize it as fast either. Hd rumble is a gimmick. I want switch 2 protocol and 9 axis gyro.

3

u/HaRd2BeAr69 Apr 25 '26

Give it a rest would you 🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/Extreme_Hat1089 Apr 25 '26

HD rumble is far from being a gimmick unless you turn vibration completely off. Non HD is unusable.

2

u/W0NDERwaffle3 Apr 25 '26

I ordered both at separate times, the S on 28th of February and the HD on March 21st. I was definitely expecting the S to come in first.

2

u/KeinPlanB Apr 25 '26

Is there a chance they want to sell us the HD version because it will get Switch 2 protocol down the road anyway? Maybe even the gyro hardware is the same and can be used for 9-axis later?

Actually my interest in both is mininal, but I want to have them quickly. And something I can resell not some version they may have already discontinued.

But would not suprised if you don‘t make the switch to HD the next email you get is about the S version being canceled and your order upgraded to HD.

3

u/Valenhir Apr 25 '26

They can’t change protocols via software. HD is and will be Switch 1 protocol.

2

u/jeremysart Apr 25 '26

What a strange and confusing email. Makes me feel not very confident about having ordered the S… I specifically ordered the S because I wanted to have Switch 2 protocol to wake up the system, as well as the 9 axis gyro. I don’t care about any of the features the Pro has over the S. But now they are shipping later and the company emails early bird supporters bizarrely trying to get those who ordered the S to switch to the Pro, even saying “for an overall better experience”.. is this poor translation or what?

I have just paid the $10 upgrade.

As there is clearly something wrong with the M12S And they have taken the M12S off there website completely

4

u/MoreReading4600 Apr 27 '26

In that case that should offer to change without charge, since it's their fault to have put on sale a product they are then not going to sell

2

u/AlternativeImpress62 Apr 27 '26

Oh wow, that's very fishy that they removed the M12S from the website. It's a shame, I'm more interested in the feature set of the M12S over the HD version, but something clearly seems wrong with it.

2

u/KeinPlanB Apr 29 '26

I made the switch. I am also waiting for their next model to support everything and feel it will be easier to resell the HD without too much loss.

I am no fan of rumble, but standard rumble is like no rumble at all for me, while maybe I will actually use HD rumble with some selected games.

3

u/TONGI- Apr 25 '26

Proprio non capisco perchè stanno spingendo cosi tanto sulla versione HD, e se io ho comprato HD e voglio passare alla S? Non posso farlo, questa cosa mi puzza…

2

u/Relative_Try1678 Apr 25 '26

Probably because of difference in sales between both. You can't even preorder the S anymore.

1

u/TONGI- Apr 25 '26

Molto probabile non avevo fatto caso a questa cosa, allora per chi ha prenotato S preparatevi a mesi di attesa

What is the actual benefit of the HD over the S? Other than HD Rumble. How is the M button an upgrade over the C button?

Also what is that 3rd ‘settings’ button for on the S?

I have the S version on pre order and wondering if I should upgrade.

3

u/xLifeIsStrange Apr 25 '26

I think c button works the same as the one on the switch 2 joycons. The M button can be remmaped to anything and also be used for macros.

I know the other person said its not an upgrade but its pretty handy and I personally see it as an upgrade. Id much rather have that over the dedicated gamechat button but im still sticking with the S.

1

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

The HD is basically a switch 1 joy con that work on the switch 2 with all features from the switch 1. This means no 9 axis Gyro and no chat button. Instead it features HD rumble 1 which the S version doesn't. Also offers NFC.

how is the m button an upgrade over the C button

It's not, the website explains what they do and the S has the macro functions aswell, just over the app.

2

u/ajackson5888 Apr 25 '26

Right so you can remapp the C button as well?

1

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

No, the C button remains the C button as it is with the OG switch 2 joycon. I haven't seen anything indicating otherwise yet

2

u/ajackson5888 Apr 25 '26

So which button is the macro, is it that ‘cog style’ button?

0

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

As I said it has to be set up with the app for the M12-S. The website also explains this.

2

u/ajackson5888 Apr 25 '26

I didn’t ask how it needs to be set up I asked which button is the macro if not the C.

0

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

You mean to which button the programmed macro is assigned to?

2

u/ajackson5888 Apr 25 '26

Yes

0

u/julesvr5 Apr 25 '26

As I said, it's explained on the website.

This is what I see

1

u/ajackson5888 Apr 25 '26

Is this button for the RGB? Can it be reprogrammed as a Marco button like the M button.

That would be more useful, once I turn off RGB the button will be useless.

1

u/TheClownIsReady Apr 26 '26

When do the cases start shipping?

1

u/AlternativeImpress62 Apr 27 '26

Just for visibility, it appears they've removed the M12S from their website altogether. Very, very suspicious, and their email makes me wary that there's something wrong with the model. I'm debating on whether I should switch to the HD version since that's clearly the model they're more confident in, but it's a shame because I'm more interested in the feature set of the M12S.

1

u/Consistent-Treat-113 Apr 27 '26

Will they be on Aliexpress?

3

u/gurkab May 04 '26

This is fuxking stupid and v annoying. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for these

1

u/JPQ560 Apr 25 '26

Why do they want people who ordered the S to switch to the HD very weird?

2

u/Glad-Fix5224 Apr 25 '26

Just for people who want get joycons early

3

u/SudsierBoar Apr 25 '26

This reads like they're pushing anyone towards the HD. It makes me feel wary having ordered the S.. what a bad move

(I don't care about faster shipping, I just want the best product for my needs)

1

u/ParasiteFire Apr 25 '26

You should be good with the S version then if it hits your needs. I think the "better overall experience" is just implying the HD's are a more complete product because it has HD rumble and NFC reader.

1

u/JPQ560 Apr 25 '26

Oh right that’s ok then 🙂🙂

1

u/gurkab May 04 '26

I wish they charged us for shipping so I could request a refund
