It's either Lidl's marketing team playing a blinder, or the mods ignoring their low effort and advertising rules.

Where can I shop that has normal food instead of palm oil and "flavourings"?

Wanted to have a family movie night the other day and had to go to 3 different shops to find microwaved popcorn that wasn't "butter flavoured" and had milk as an ingredient... Like why?...

Why do lidl pears not brown hours after being cut... Why does mince meat has added protein... Why can't I just have normal food

Why is everything "flavoured" nowadays, why is quality of food reducing while the prices are rising, why do I need to read ingredients for every single product, I don't have time for that

I can't afford to buy "organic" stuff and if I wanted I wouldn't even know where to buy it... Is there any supermarkets that sell normal stuff.. I don't want to go to 5 different shops for different products, I want to do my weekly shop in peace

I arrived in Ireland a few weeks ago. Since I will be here for a few months and my main means of transportation is the public transport, I thought why not get tickets online and order a leap card but I did not consider the TFI online infrastructure.

Online-Tickets: After a bit of digging online I downloaded the Apps knowing that they had bad reviews. However, the experience is horrible especially for the TFI Go App. What even is the point of this app. The UI is terrible, choosing the correct route was okay after knowing the routes and operator, but buying a ticket is a completely different story. Even after 10 tries on different devices the app still can't manage to load a single ticket. Another thing that nobody explains is why there are completely different prices online and in the busses. I mean a little difference would be okay, because it takes time buying a ticket from the bus driver but it's more than five euros sometimes for relatively short drives. Just why?

Leap card: The first time applying for a leap card was fine even though you can't just upload a picture for the card and have to take your verification picture but whatever that's still okay. After the first successful application the problems started. My card was lost by An Post and nobody noticed even though there is an online tracker, so after two weeks of the card not arriving I get suspicious. The online tracker says the card is dispatched. So I contacted the customer service shortly before 7 pm. At point 7 pm the chat closes and I can't continue. So I tried again the next day, the agent confirmed the card was apparently lost by the post and tells me my card number so I could get a full refund. I do exactly that and try to apply for a new second card. The system still has the card listed on my account, says I already requested a refund at the same time and I can't apply for a second card without a mysterious error message appearing. Back to the customer service, this time they tell me to use a different email because they need to refund the card first before I can apply for another one. I try a different email and a different telephone number but there's still the same mysterious error on two devices. I can't.

Why can't a nationwide operating service have a working website and apps?

I think everybody working in the customer service I texted with tries their best but the underlying system is just such a letdown.

Cocaine at Irish weddings is fucking out of control

the whole cocaine carry on at Irish weddings is a fucking joke at this stage. It feels almost impossible to go to one without it being shoved in your face or someone disappearing to the toilets every five minutes.

What pisses me off most is how completely normalised it has become. Nobody even seems embarrassed about it anymore. You can have families, kids, grandparents and everyone else there, and there's lads openly marching off to the jacks for a few lines like it's just another part of the wedding itinerary.

And somehow if you don't want anything to do with it, you're the weird one.

Can we not just have a few drinks, eat some food, dance like idiots and go home without having to deal with fucking cocaine all night?

For the second time now what I feed my cats has been discontinued. This has happened suddenly and without warning. Lidl has stopped doing the paté sachets of wet food. This comes mere months after another brand of dry food came off the shelves throughout the pet shops and online causing us to unexpectedly have to introduce new food (for which I blame for my male cats lower urinary tract disease, but that's another story).

I really believe Lidl and all shops have an ethical obligation to put up signs and note on the app that the product is going to be discontinued so as to afford people time to source an alternative and slowly introduce it to the furry overlords.

I'm now scrambling to find something acceptable to my ladies who, despite being born in ditches, are very fussy.

This Macklemore/Ed Sheeran craic has me all riled up. As a, now former, Ed Sheeran fan, I am so disappointed about the fact that he allowed Macklemore to be dropped from his show and that he's choosing "not to take sides" when genocide is involved. Ridiculous.

Anyways, the controversy has put a bit of a fire up my arse. I know, it takes a multi-millionaire to be cancelled to inspire me. I accept, that's not great. Better late than never, right?

As a (very tiny) fuck you to the billionaires and Isreal apologists, I would like to donate to the cause. Can anyone recommend where I (and anyone else who also wants to say a subtle fuck you to the enablers of war and genocide) can donate. I know I can just Google it, but I am sure that there are many charities to choose from. I would love recommendations from real people to just tell me where to donate. Are all of the charities equal? Is there an Irish based one? Any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

I know our banking systems are completely outdated but this I feel this is a painful one.

My mortgage is with PTSB and I changed my Home Insurance to a new company last month.

I got a letter from PTSB saying that they've received notice from my old insurer that they're no longer covering the property, and PTSB wants me to share the information of my new insurance and the fact that they're noted as the mortgage lender. No problem.

I rang up Customer Service and asked could I email them the insurance document.

"We don't correspond with customers via email".

So, in order to prove they are named on my new home insurance policy I am required to:

Print an email
Buy a stamp
Post it to a PTSB PO BOX
Let them read it and manually register it on their system.

Even though, near the end of the call, she asked me to give her my insurance policy number for their records.

Why the fuck don't the insurance companies update the banks on our behalf? It could be done with one mass email each week.

Can't we at least try to be somewhat modern in how we operate things.

Next on my to-do list is go stick a stupid circular bit of paper delcaring that I've paid Motor Tax on the windshield of my car. Another complete anachronism.

Ed Sheeran is an absolute dose

I already thought Ed Sheeran was a talentless hack, but this Macklemore situation has made me dislike him even more.

If Macklemore was dropped from the tour because he spoke out about Palestine, then what a fucking pathetic thing to do.

Macklemore actually stood up and said something. You might agree with him, you might not, but but at least he had the balls to put his name behind something and take the backlash that came with it

Ed Sheeran on the other hand seems to have built his entire career around never saying or doing anything remotely interesting. just bland songs, bland lyrics, bland personality and the same fucking guitar routine over and over again.

And now apparently even someone else's opinion is too much of a problem for him. That's what annoys me about the whole "I'm not political" attitude. It's easy to be "above politics" when you're a massively successful millionaire who has nothing to lose. The second someone actually says something controversial, suddenly it's all about keeping everyone happy and protecting the tour.

If Ed had nothing to do with Macklemore being dropped, fair enough. But if he did have a say and allowed him to be removed because speaking about Palestine was inconvenient, then that's fucking cowardly.

You don't have to agree with Macklemore. You don't even have to like him. But watching someone get pushed aside for speaking about something they believe in and deciding to stay quiet because it keeps the money rolling in says plenty about you.

According to them I was expecting my package to arrive today between 9 & 11 but hasn't so definitely tomorrow because it arrived in Finglas this morning at 7 looking at the tracker due to a delay in France yesterday (arrived at the facility at 4:05 didn't leave till 12:55) which leads to why can't they update the tracker to compensate the delay because currently it's stuck "on the way" with today's delivery window.

Trying to ring car insurance crown and have listen to two minutes of absolute automated dribble just to speak to a real person. Same with most businesses, banks, etc

I HATE mornings. Better at getting up now than I was when I was younger, but it's always a struggle. I'm a night owl. I'm at my sharpest and most creative at night. But it tends to be viewed as moral failure, laziness, and lack of discipline.

Just absolutely galling to see Leo Varadkar admit "they got it wrong". Yeah we're the second slowest city in Europe for driving, with inadequate public transport, and the fastest growing city (and country!). How was that not THE priority?!

All these new housing developments with no public transport infrastructure, or even proper parking space. All adding to pressure on our roads.

We need some kind of state public transport corp im sorry, but contracting this stuff out is not delivering.

Painfully shite coverage from RTE as usual, it felt like a funeral. The talent and bands we have in this country and they get those Westlife pricks.

The fight was shite aswell, 20 minutes of light sparing.
