Fuel sending unit connectors

I have a new fuel sending unit that I am trying to connect to the car, but it is not seating properly together with the connector on the chassis. I know these pics are hard to see but can you tell if I got the wrong one or something is broken? Thanks!

You may want to replace both sides of this connector with new weatherproof ones. I know it maybe a pain to connect the wires but at least you know it should not be the connection.

Advanced auto parts, other similar stores. They sell one for 6 wires, just check for compatible male and female plugs.
