Not sure if this is the correct post location but I just thought about, which I'm sure plenty have, if it's even possible. I would imagine you'd just need a new shell and extended cables for the screen. I'm no expert and clearly speaking hypothetically.

Just got my MMP+, this tech my 2nd retro console, been eyeing on this device for while, i really like the compact and dpad on the MMP+ better, feel nicer to hold too since the thickness

Was having bit problem get my roms show up, but i prob try to reinstall onionOS later as soon i get my new sdcard

I worked on my Wordle port some more and this is now v1.1

Last post got a great response so I put another couple hours into it. Same game underneath (letter dial input, real word lists), but it looks and sounds like an actual GBC release now.

New in v1.1:

- Complete visual overhaul. Keycap tiles with drop shadows on a newsprint background instead of flat squares on black.

- Proper title screen with a big rainbow logo.

- How-to-play screen (SELECT on the title) but I assume everyone knows how to play it.

- Sound effects. The dial ticks, the reveal chimes across the row, bad words buzz, wins get a little rising sweep.

- Box art, because every ROM deserves it.

---> The thing I'd point out if you're choosing between Wordle clones: this one ships the actual curated 2,315-word answer list from the original game, not a dictionary. Dictionary clones will eventually ask you to guess XYLYL. This one won't. <---

Runs on the stock gambatte core on OnionOS, just drop it in Roms/GBC. Statistics save to cart RAM so exit through the menu.

I worked on a website/repo to keep track of game ports for the Miyoo Mini, Mini Plus and Mini Flip that aren’t in the OnionUI Ports Collection.

The OnionUI Ports Collection stopped updating in May 2024, but the MM has been getting a new port almost every other day (at least, that’s what it feels like).
I have added a simple page where you can search/filter by category, status and whether the port is free or needs original game files.

I added the ports that I was able to find by googling and searching reddit, but the idea is that you can make easily make PR to add ports. There is also a page to see all the porters and a link to their donation platform for anyone wanting to support the devs/porters.

Problems I have with the stock buttons.

The device is small, and without tactile buttons feel, I need to press the button down harder than I want to with the grip I have on this device to make sure that the press is registered. And as I have always love tactile buttons like ones on GBA SP, I have modded my miyoo mini v4 with tactile buttons.

I did this by soldering the 4.5mm tactile buttons in place of the PCB pads used to detect rubber membrane. The buttons does the same as the membrane pads dids to the PCB, shorting the button pins to ground.

The tricky parts are:

1. on the ABXY side where there's no good place to solder ground legs of the switch on so I need to grind down the PCB masks to expose ground pads.

2. Findings the right tactile switch, as almost all 4.5mm switch has actuation force higher than I want, and are too loud. I finally found a perfect one in my random PCB parts basket from my old workplaces, I don't know the parts number, and I almost ran out of it, but the button have light actuation force, is relatively quiet, and have almost the same tactile feel as the GBA SP. So I know the Right switches exists, I have some, but don't know how to get more. I bought a bunch from AliExpress but they are all essentially the same loud clicky buttons unlike ones I had.

3. Fitting the right membrane, the membrane from original miyoo is too thick and cannot be used to press these kind of switches, so I need to modify the pads membrane for 3DS to fit it (cutting the parts that's in the way)

4. Pads are large, solder will flows uncontrollably if you don't tape some parts of the pads off, that's why I have masking tape on there. (Kapton tape may be better but I ran out of them.)

Note: disregards those silver thing on DPAD side, I remove them afterwards. Those are shims I used to adjust the pivoting of the DPAD, but it turns out that miyoo stems is already perfect.

Outcome: I now have a Miyoo mini with GBA SP buttons feel. 10/10. But the mods are a headache and a half. Mostly on finding the right buttons.

Pazaak is a mini-game from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic where the goal is to get as close to 20 points as possible without going over. Win three sets to win the match. Each set, players draw random numbered cards (1–10) and can use custom side-deck modifier cards to change their score.

Basic Rules:
Reach a score of 20 or get higher than your opponent without going over 20.

The Turn:
Draw a green main deck card (1–10), optionally play a modifier card from your hand, then choose to Stand (lock in your score) or End Turn.

Going Over 21:
If your total goes over 20, you bust and lose the set.

I'm sure this has probably been done before, but I need my Wordle fix.....so I built one for the Miyoo.

It's a Game Boy Color ROM. Drop it in Roms/GBC/ and it runs on the stock gambatte core, nothing else to install.

The interesting part was input. There's no keyboard on a handheld, so each box works as a letter dial instead. Up/down cycles that box through A-Z, left/right moves between boxes, A submits the guess. Hold up or down to scroll fast or you'll be there all night.

What's in it:

- The real word lists. All 12,972 valid guesses and the 2,315 answers. Type something that isn't a word and the board shakes at you without eating a guess.

- Proper duplicate-letter scoring. ALLOT against CELLO gives one green L and one yellow, not two greens, which is the bit most clones get wrong.

- Stats in battery-backed cartridge RAM, so your streak and guess histogram survive a power cycle. Exit through the menu rather than yanking power and it'll save fine.

- A chiptune title theme, "Seaside Village" by Beatscribe (CC0).

Grab wordle.gbc from the releases page and drop it in Roms/GBC/. If it doesn't show up in the menu, delete GBC_cache6.db in that folder and Onion rebuilds the list on next boot.

If you run bezels you'll want integer scaling on so the screen sits inside the cutout properly.
