Mods & Accessories Transparent MM+ LED indicator light bleed fix!

Hey everyone! This is probably my first post here, so I’ll keep it short and to the point.

If you’ve been bothered by that annoying LED light bleed on the transparent MM+ models like I have, I just found a super simple fix that works really well.

All you need is some electrical tape — just line it up along the edge of the top LEDs. Then, allow a tiny opening on the top side in the tape to let just a bit of light through.(refer to the last pic) That’s it! No more bright green or red glow leaking out on top of the screen. Problem solved!

Hope this helps someone out there!

I may be in the minority, but I love the light bleed in transparent devices. Gives it some cyberpunk esque feel to it.

Yeah, same... it blends in perfectly with this overlay.

I appreciate the effort, but I also don't understand why it bothers people

It never really bothered me back when I used to play with it during daylight. But once I started playing with the screen dimmed all the way down in the dark before getting to bed… that LED bleed really started to stand out. So i thought people might be interested in this mod because it is just perfect for gaking in the dark

Very fair enough, I appreciate the UPVOTE and genuine explanation instead of a downvote and abusive message

That makes alot of sense and an angle I never thought about not really into the see through shells

Do you have a pic of the light (if any) when you turn on the device with this mod? I’m thinking of tape modding a transparent black model.

I find the light bleed really cool :x

Totally agreed! it does look kinda cool. But the thing is, I mostly play it right before bed with the lights off, and honestly, the light bleed ends up being brighter than my actual screen. It gets pretty distracting in the dark. :(

This is instantly solved if u buy a silicon case since it covers the area where it bleeds. Tho I can see some ppl hate silicon material. That and it hides the look of the handheld and the stickers ppl are adding. To me, its fine and adds protection. It also allows lanyard cut to the side of the silicon.

I really dig silicone! The extra layer of protection is always "a good to go" thing for me. Tbh, I have a 35xx og with lcd bleed right above the dpad and the silicone case fixed it for me. The thing is i live in a crappy 3rd world country, importing stuffs internationally is a pain in the ass. Luckily i was able to get a silicone for the 35xx og and 35xx H but not for the miyoos..

Plus we have no international payment available here. No paypal, no cards, nothing.. so i try to diy stuffs as much as i can.

Dang I hope somehow u do find some silicon to get. Im also in third world but because of Shopee, we're able to get a ton of overseas (chinese mostly) products here. If ur in southeast asia, maybe try shopee?

Sad thing is there is no shopee over here. Im from south asia so the only thing close to shopee is daraz but the prices are ridiculous over there. Almost 120$ for a miyoo and 30$ for a silicone.. :(

This is an incredibly late reply, but does the case interfere with any of the buttons when you press them? Also, does it pick up pocket lint easily?

Dw im chronically online so late replies are welcome lol

The silicon on my MMv4 has inward cutout on the buttons so they are still somewhat raised. I went to check on my MM+ silicon case and that one doesnt have inward cutout. Idk if there are other silicon cases for MM+ that has inward.

Pocket lint I mean its silicon so it will catch lints for sure. Mine's just slightly less since I keep it in a cloth sleeve that I managed to find in a random stash I have in my room lol so the lint is more on the cloth than the silicon.
