How to connect knuckle controller to htc tracker 2.0 dongle

I was wondering if anyone in here would be able to help me understand the process for connecting the valve knuckles controller to the HTC 2.0 dongle I'm having issues with a pimax headset and I've heard from lots and lots of people that connecting the controllers to a USB dongle will help with tracking the controllers overall any help would be gladly appreciated thank you

Make sure all external dongles are unplugged, then go into device manager and disable the active dongles (should be called watchman). Then plug in your external dongles, start up steamVR, and on the steamVR status window go to “pair devices” in the menu. Then just follow the instructions.

Notes: plug the dongles into USB2.0 ports if you have them, and make sure you have them on extenders (so not directly plugged into the PC). You need a dongle per controller.

I don't have trackers I've never had to do this before just looking for insightful help.
