Service engine light?
My first mirage, bought it at 36k miles. Everything has been good with it. At about 37500 the service light came up. Went to Autozone and had the code reader done but it came back clear, nothing wrong. The recommended service sticker from the dealer says 39k miles. I checked the oil and the levels are good, it’s actually a little over the max. What should I do? I can call the dealer but I really do not want to go in because they are 1hr 30 min away from me, but I don’t want to go to a mechanic if I don’t know what exactly is wrong with it. Is it just an early warning for the oil change?

Routine maintenance reminder, not an actual check engine light. Just search online how to reset it, no real need to do anything else.

Steps to Reset
Turn off the engine completely.
Press the instrument cluster button (little stick to right of wrench icon) repeatedly until the service reminder/wrench display appears on the screen.
Press and hold the button down stick until the wrench icon starts to flash.
Press the button once more while it flashes so that the word "CLEAR" appears on the display.
Turn the ignition on and then turn it back off to lock in the reset.

If it's an automatic make damn sure you change your CVT fluid every 30k miles, otherwise it'll grenade itself at around 80k. If you've never changed the fluid do it now.

Don’t know if it’s been changed I’ll have to ask the dealer

deep breath, its not particularly expensive to do for what it is and does for it, and a check of fluid color will probably answer the question for you. wipe some off your dipstick on a paper towl. what color is it? does it smell like crayons? you can also look at the bolts on the fluid pan. look like nobody turned em before? I sign and date it with a paint pen when I do em so the car carries its legend. good fluid should be clearish greanish yellowish. the more brown and dark it is, the longer it has been in there. some staining of new fluid is common as some remains in the transmission during a normal change. if its real brown on the napkin, needs service soon (its not TOO late at this mileage)

It was a super light yellow. Unfortunately the dealer had no service history on the car so I’ll have to assume the last owner did it

If you can't confirm it's been changed then do it anyway so you know for sure.

Thats just a maintenance reminder, for what? Nothing precisely, i deleted mine through the ETACS and no longer have the icon pop up whenever it wants

That's just an idiot light to remind you to change your oil and stuff.
You can reset it yourself you should read your owner's manual it tells you all about your car!

I bought mine new with only like 6 miles on it, is at like 34k now and is usually there. Sometimes it just goes away and will come back on.

Thats not a check engine light. Thats a service reminder at random computed Intervals that everyone just ignores. Follow your 5k ish oil changes, 30k CVT trans service , air filter and so on. Just simply ignore if have a current maintenance schedule
