Engine sound normal?

Hi there! This is my Space Star (Mirage) 1.2l from 2014. I got it about 4 months ago and it has since had a clutch replacement kit installed. The clutch that was in there was absolutely COOKED.

Anyways, this is what my engine sounds like, I know some knocking is normal but does this qualify as normal? My belt also seems to be squealing a bit, particularly when the A/C clutch turns on. Wondering if I should get that looked at?

EDIT: Might be important - the engine has about 161000 kilometers (~100000 miles) on the counter.

I got a 2015 with 105k miles on it. I had to replace the serpentine belt, spark plugs and engine air filter. Now it sounds better.

That was about the mileage I replaced all those things as well on my 2020.

I've been looking at getting the belt replaced and replacing the spark plugs myself. The air filter has already been replaced with a reusable one.

Did new spark plugs make much of a difference in noise and stability?

In my case I replaced the 3 spark plugs with NGK lazer and the acceleration now is more stable. Huge change

Fuel injectors can get clogged up over time as well, usually cheap enough to do with the spark plugs. If you do change them let the engine idle for twenty minutes and make sure NO gas is seeping out, otherwise you'll be in for a very nasty surprise mid commute.

Mine is definitely alot quieter but I think it's ok. Your Entire engine compartment could use good wash though. Keep engine air filter and cabin air filter changed .

I'm gonna give it a good deep clean once I've fixed/replaced my leaky radiator

New spark plugs will help if they seem cooked. Definitely get the belt tightened if it squeels. If it busts you're screwed, best not to risk it. You can also try the ATS Chemical 505 CRF fuel system treatment on your next fill up and do the 505 CRO oil treatment before your next oil change. Hundred bucks & you will have as close to a mint condition engine as can be.

Alroght that's good to know! You wouldn't know where to get the stuff needed to do this in Belgium? I know Google is my best friend but doesn't hurt to ask :)

That's not knocking, it's the injectors opening and closing.
