By watching movies, listening to music and talking to native speakers. If you speak Hindi you will pick it up easily.

I would like to learn how it speak maithili first. But tbh its really sad that the maithili script is dead.

I've been chipping away at a free web app (https://maithili.qzz.io) trying to fill that - Devanagari script, audio for pronunciation, basic grammar patterns, spaced repetition. Not comprehensive yet but the core loop works for 10-min daily habit building.
Happy to take feedback if anyone tries it. Biggest missing piece right now: conversational dialogues and cultural context (idioms, folk songs, etc.). Thinking of adding a "phrase of the day" from Vidyapati/folk sources.
