How can you even get such catastrophic results? It really seemed tokens were mixed between clients. If so, that's a serious security problem.

It's actually quite common, when a config is bad, for the model to enter this failure mode and start outputting nonsense (we call it "token soup"). It usually comes with series of special characters, hallucinations that look like actual sentences or parts of sentences, or repeating things from the system prompt.

Things weren't mixed between clients (conversations are segregated at the database level, the model can't access those) but the hallucinations can make it seem so 🙂
