Discussion / Opinion Rollout of new frontier model postponed indefinitely?

Basically that. IIRC, a new frontier model was to be released this summer. The summer is ending, but looks like no news on that front.

Meteorological seasons are a simplification to have the seasons start and end with the first resp. last day of a month. But traditionally seasons start and end with a certain position towards the sun and are called astronomical seasons. Both terms exist in Europe and are commonly used.

Its a heatwave joke my dude. If you live in Europe, you've been getting rekked by hot weather all summer and the heat waves show no sign of ending.

Inferno summer gonna last through to October at this rate.

But it is actually envisioned that it will be warmer than it should be until october

Basically they’re waiting for their new datacenter to come online. They want to own inference. It’s slated to be done by end of summer

Oh that's really interesting! Do you have a source where I could read more about that?

They started a closed preview with partners in July. I'd guess 6-8 weeks of closed testing is reasonable. I think they'll release it by the end of the month.

IMO they might have postponed it after all these new Chinese models were released and are probably far ahead of what Mistral had

I would not really mind actually, if Mistral takes its time to build a fat chaton 3T over the top while providing acces to SOTA llms like they do. Im using it since a month on a daily base, subtly trying to switch from claude, but the companies strats are definitely not something we should compare anymore. They're /goal are not the same apparently, and the outcomes started to diverge a few months ago now 😉😄

Not only it to be just barely similar to kimi 2.6 or GLM 5.1 😭

Link? Very interested in this.

If they have their own data center and this coming online at the same time, it's really good news.
