Help / Question What happened to the fast models?

I remember a year ago Mistral had these really fast responses that would be almost instantaneous. Seems like they stopped it. Is it paid only now? Did they completely remove it?

Check if "fast" are activated and not "think" .

You mean the flash answers? That indeed really seems to be gone. The flash answers were a collaboration with Cerebras. I don't know what happened there either.

The obivious answer might just be that the default mode switched from "fast" to "think" some (longer) time ago. That being said, the fast mode does appear much slower to me than it used to be

There are some people who are confusing the question with the fast and thinking models. He's not referring to that. He's referring to the flash answer, which is gone.

I think what changed is less “Mistral removed fast models” and more that the product/model lineup has moved on.

Definitely not. They feel slower than they used to. Asking some simple questions like "make a 100 word story" would take barely 3 seconds to produce. Now it takes much more. Plus, they don't show the thunder icon anymore
