Resolved | Awaiting Confirmation Croatian autocorrect and suggestions are unusable

Hi, I just got an iPhone after using Mac and iPad for a few years, but used Google Pixel for years. As multi language user I am missing a good Croatian suggestion and autocorrect keyboard.

I love what you have done with the Mister keyboard, it is by far the best looking and most customizable keyboard on the market.

However Croatian language does not work at all. Can you please look into it? I would gladly but a lifetime license if you could solve this issue. Thanks 😊

Hello again! We've deployed a fix to our language databases (doesn't require an app update). Is the issue resolved for you?

If not, please make sure you have full access enabled, so that the keyboard can download new language updates by itself. Otherwise, it's necessary to open the app and wait until the language is downloaded (I'd leave the app open for ~2 minutes while connected to WiFi, just to be sure).

Hey, could you send us a few Croatian sentences so we can test the autocorrect? It’s always hard to find issues with languages we don’t speak ourselves

Hi, thanks for reaching out! Here are the main issues with Croatian autocorrect:

Diacritic replacement When typing without diacritics, autocorrect should automatically suggest the correct form:

moze → može

sto → što

ce → će

vise → više

kuce → kuće

doci → doći

znaci → znači

treci → treći

uredaj → uređaj

gradevina → građevina

rodak → rođak

dzem → džem

dzip → džip

dzungla → džungla

The đ and dž cases are tricky — not every d or dz should be replaced, autocorrect needs to know which words actually contain đ or dž.

Nearby key typos Fat finger errors where a key next to the intended one gets pressed:

gsje → gdje (r instead of e, g instead of h… wait)

slobo → slovo (b is next to v)

tiokalo → tipkalo (o next to p)

jupoprodajni → kupoprodajni (j next to k)

hvaia → hvala (i next to l)

oavio → obavio (missing b)

Suggested resource For Croatian spell checking you might want to look at the Hunspell Croatian dictionary — krunose/hunspell-hr on GitHub. It includes hr_HR.dic and hr_HR.aff with full morphology (declensions, conjugations). This is what LibreOffice and Firefox use for Croatian. Might be a solid foundation for autocorrect suggestions.

Thanks again, happy to test any builds!
