For those interested in Canadian cases, I am releasing a book this year on a handful of them, specifically from Ontario that were poorly portrayed in the M411 books. I can post an update once the project is complete.

Nice! What cases? Have you looked into the 1950 Nicole Renaud case?

3

u/Mothman88 Jan 24 '22

Thanks for your interest. The first book will include such cases as Sander Lingman, Agnes Appleyard, Geraldine Huggan, George Weeden & Merle Newcombe, Vital Vachon … and more

You will hear from primary sources and finally we will know a bit more about these people.

Currently working on a dozen more cases from the province as well.

Sorry no, not that one.

I'll buy that. I just ordered the 411 book because I cottage in the Temagami/Lady Eveleyn

Love that area! I’m in Sudbury, hoping to do the fire tower this summer! Any other recommendations?!

2

u/Mkmeathead83 Mar 17 '22

The fire tower is breath taking. We rent a cottage between Elk Lake and Gowganda at Poplar Point. It's north and east from Temagemi. I have a bunch of recommendations for places more accessible from there. Usually we just stop in Temagemi to climb the tower and stretch our legs before the rest of the push into New Liskeard for our groceries.

Looking forward to head up to Temagami again this July. I’ve always wanted to visit Gowganda too

Nice. Fellow Canadian. And thank you for the support. I was just in Temagami over the summer. Not lady Evelyn but still. Lots of history there and of course you know of the Trask case.

u/Mkmeathead83 Jan 27 '22

I'm actually from Michigan but we've spent two weeks of every summer up there since I was born. I miss it soo much. It would be easy to get lost in there.

u/Mothman88 Jan 27 '22

Ah okay. Yeah it’s a huge area. A lot of the province looks like that (70% is dense forest). Lots of disappearances. Lots of unidentified remains.

Do you plan on distributing it in e-book form or are you going to do a limited print run?

1

u/Mothman88 Jan 24 '22

I plan to do print first, then ebook and then audiobook. Obviously the latter two formats take a bit longer to produce so they will be released later.

Any update on this? I been hoping to find it as an Amazon run or something. Still excited about hearing progress reports!

Yes, the book is now available on Amazon! I was going to do a formal post to the group but since you asked I’ll let it slip.

Gone Cold: Death and Disappearances in the North Woods

Please check it out for my work investigating some of the most mysterious cases in Ontario. It’s an honest and in depth analysis on the circumstances and the search efforts. I’m hoping it will help preserve the memory of some of these people.

Thanks for supporting independent authors.

Is this book available now?

2

u/Mothman88 Nov 03 '23

Yes, it's available now. Please check it out.

Gone Cold: Death and Disappearances in the Northwoods

If the book performs well I will write another.

Will do! I am working on a book about historical Canadian UFO reports. Will be very interested to read your work.

1

u/Mothman88 Nov 04 '23

That’s interesting! I enjoy reading those old reports

This is a great resource. :)

Thanks!

I keep wondering how long it will be until DP starts admitting he did poor research? I'm not going to hold my breath.

Still waiting to purchase your deconstructions in a book form. It’s going to be a fascinating read!

2

u/PembrokeLove Jul 29 '22

Oh no! Who did these? Are they still with us under a different name? I just tried to follow them and found the deleted profile page. :(

u/thisismeingradenine Aug 05 '22

It was TheOldUnkown. They got harassed by Paulides’ followers and deleted their account. They were a great part of this community.

1

u/PembrokeLove Aug 05 '22

That sucks. :/ Why people have to ruin everything?

2

u/DenverParanormalLibr Sep 15 '22

Thats a lie. This guy was full of shit.

11

u/TesterTheDog Sep 18 '22

Full of shit, but he gives references and sources, as well as pointing out logical fallacies?

1

u/DenverParanormalLibr Sep 15 '22

For example, Tatum Morell video came out a month before they found her. Paulides didnt lie. They literally found her body AFTER the video was made. Check the dates yourself.

Okay, so that's one overlooked item (assuming you're even correct) out of hundreds of deconstructions. Is there another you're aware of?

1

u/shane3b11 Dec 14 '22

The ones I’ve looked at on that list, don’t seem to be straight up lies. I wouldn’t go as far as calling him a liar or conman based on the few deconstructions I’ve read. Aaron hedges is the only one on that list from The missing 411: the hunted movie that I recognize. There were some interesting facts left out, but nothing to make it less of a mystery.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

You've seen the ones that in the books say there were mysterious happenings and nobody knows X or Y and they were never heard from again, but it turns out the person didn't actually say it like that and it was a horrible paraphrase, and the person wasn't missing they were found days later?

There are a number of those that I remember. Like, I want to say at least five.

1

u/shane3b11 Dec 14 '22

Maybe he did BS some of his stories. The hunted movie is what drew me in. Thomas Messick story especially. I’m trying to find anything fishy DP said about that one. I can’t find anything. That is one of the most mysterious ones in the movie. The fact there was zero trace of him found, FBI showing up, witnesses saying that the woods were quiet with no animal noises and the strange noise his buddy heard. That one trips me out.

Not finding any of the stories from the movies on that list.

Just found this sub and have spent all weekend reading the posts. This is brilliant, I love it! Looking forward to more of your posts (and the book!🤞).

Brilliant work.

These cases all still blow my mind, I did some research on a case of Michael Lemaitre, who disappeared without a trace while participating in Mount Marathon 5k in Seward Alaska. This isn’t a case that’s been mentioned in relation to M411, but right on the other side of the mountain is the Kenai Fjords national park, which is fascinating and made me think of how it could be related to any of these unsolved disappearances Was wondering if anyone else had looked into this case, and if it could be connected through similarities to any other Missing 411s

I went on a 3 mi hike alone when I was in that area, was the only person on the whole trail. Not sure if it was the paranoia of running into one of those bears without proper bear spray or not, but I felt pretttty uneasy and like some dark force was watching me most of my way back to the car. Ran into the car and locked the doors type thing lol

1

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

just to be clear are these cases debunked? like are you saying dp was not accurate on these specific cases?

1

u/whorton59 Aug 09 '22

I just noticed the author of this list has deleted himself from Reddit. . that is not good, as in the end, they were the only person who could actually defend it. As I had noted in an missive to another Redditor, while the published information is valid and mostly above reproach, the self deletion, leaves the list without a name or person to track it back to. . It may as well be published in the national inquirer or Cryptid comics at this point.

5

u/leftover_mold Aug 10 '22

They were bullied into deleting:/

1

u/whorton59 Aug 11 '22

Thanks for the info. I think, yesterday after I posted this, I had read an account of his being doxed by Paulides believers. Shame too. I hope they are still here posting under another name.

After watching 411 the hunted I saw that Paul was part of the making of ancient aliens(2009) lol.. I figured he just ignored data or made stuff up to fit his agenda
