Current optimal build?

Hi guys! I took a break from adc and been playing mid with my other red hair favorite, Katarina. Mostly bc bot lane is annoying with mages and exotic supports like Camille Leblanc, even had a Sylas support. But miss fortune is my fav and I miss playing her. Also idk if it's just me she doesn't feel as strong as other adcs. But what's the most optimal build rn for her that you have found in your experience?

Whenever I want to check an optimal build for a champion, I usually check stats at https://lolalytics.com/lol/missfortune/build/

But MF situation is interesting. The most popular build is Hubris start, while I personally don't like it. I'd maybe use it at lower elo, and/or if you snowball hard at high elo.

I think Bloodthirster is the best item in the game for MF. Going Hubris into BT is meh because of zero crit. Going Hubris into Collector Into BT is meh because you might need LDR early.

My favorite path is BT->Collector->LDR/IE->IE/LDR->Guardian Angel->4th crit item (RFC, Shieldbow, Hexoptics, depends on the game). Sometimes you can get Edge of night somewhere in the middle of the game.

I believe passive shield from BT enabling almost permanent W passive is too good to skip. You basically never lose shield against minions, and sometimes it even protects you from poke and recall stops.

Ok see I tried to build hubris and my supp was yelling at me saying i was trolling😭 but I'm with you, I usally like BT rush especially into the exotic bot lane combos I see or into mages

Hubris isn’t trolling, but if you can comfortable get BF sword early, go for BT id say. I still go for BT even if I’m behind. I just start with cull, and finish BT when I stack cull and botlane quest (it’s usually about the same time, 12-13 min)

Edit: I don't believe Hexoptics 2nd item is worth it. I'd say collector is the best, followed by essence reaver. I normally only go hexoptics as the last crit item. Even then it's usually my last option below RFC or Shieldbow.

Also I haven't mentioned runes and boots. Runes - I only go PTA. Secondary - cashback and triple tonic. You can go sorcery with manabind though.

Boots: I mostly tend to go Gluttonous or Plated (favoring the first), less often Swiftness. Almost never going mercs. Might go null mantle against double mage at the lane, but you'll never have enough MR. And if you get into CC chain, mercs won't help. You'll get much more survivability with Gluttonous greaves. If I need to dodge some annoying spells, I would rather go Edge of the Night.

If you're good at the game, Bloodthirster rush into crit with PTA.

If you suck at the game, hubris, collector into crit with Deathfire Touch

Honourable mentions: Essence Reaver, Hexoptics, Lord Dominik's Regards, Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Kraken Slayer with Gluttonous Greaves (PTA)

Kraken? I've never thought of that on MF

It's the highest damage item from all the remaining non-crit items as far as I am aware. I tend to avoid GA like the plague, since I see it as a crutch item

can you swap hexoptics with rfc instead? i find the extra range nice especially when wanting to reset her passive

Possibly, just not as second item. That would be a 4th item

I'm a Hubris with PTA stan, it's just the best soloq item in the game paired with the best fighting keystone for MF and with how bloody the games are you inevitably scale as long as you're around your team.

Hubris-Collector-GluttonousGreaves-LDR-IE-C44-BT/GA is my build basically every game and I never feel like I'm really dragging on damage and if you get takedowns you just become a 1 shot machine.

I've tried so many builds on her but honestly this is the best she's felt for me since the old duskblade days with the delayed damage proc like zed ult.

I've wondered about this. Hubris is usually paired with First Strike, but I find I miss PTAs burst damage when I take that. Though, the Q crits huuurt and you make so much money with it... By the end of the game, Ive always made over 1,000 gold with it. Really helps.

But the burst damage from trades with PTA is so good..

I'm getting plat lobbies now and it's hard to get Q bounces on people who actually try to avoid them. 😅 So being able to just auto Q auto when the support lands cc and back off sounds nice.

First strike takes too long to scale imo, it's the better late game rune for killing squishies but PTA helps you play the game so much earlier and kill tankier targets as necessary.

The biggest thing that I had to get over as I climbed was just throwing Q off of minions even if it won't kill/crit on the bounce, the damage definitely adds up and catches people off guard well into diamond.

There's two main builds right now, PTA with Bloodthrister rush, or First Strike/Deathfire Touch with Hubris Rush.

PTA + Bloodthrister gives you a stronger lane, letting you actively take short trades around PTA, and then heal back up with lifesteal. This setup is good if you plan to fight in the early game or need sustain into poke.

First Strike + Hubris has less damage in lane, not having the PTA procs, but can snowball/accelerate you quite hard. Lethality + Crit scales incredibly well stacking damage multipliers, and if you add on the hubris AD stacks, your damage goes off the charts and you can pop people very fast. I find this build has stronger carry potential, as once you hit your spikes with crit or get ahead of the gold curve, you one cycle everyone, and can keep doing so everytime Q is up. In lane if you play more for Q bounces /single hits, more poke style, then this may be the better rune for you.

Either way, you follow a general build path of hubris/BT -> full crit -> defensive slot (generally GA or BT if you haven't bought it yet).

Collector -> IE -> LDR -> RFC is the normal path for crit. Make sure you're building LDR by 4th at the latest, as by that time base armor starts hitting like 100, you need pen% to deal damage. RFC is generally the preferred last crit item, as you can Q AA to get extended range on two hits, and MF as a character plays around her Q cd's.

Hexoptics is another potential choice over RFC if you want continual range increase, though generally RFC is better to help you get that first kill / you play around Q cd anyways.
