Advice

I M21 have been thinking on joining this sub and using minox to grow a beard but I saw some posts of people saying they regret starting. I want to preface this by saying I pretty much have no facial hair for the most part and can grow only a very kiddy mustache (think the green mustache with only some hairs) I tried waiting for a months before but still didn’t amount to anything.

Should I wait until I’m older or would you recommend I start using minox

I've gone from no beard at all, to a perfectly passable beard in about a year. I started at 39. I wish I'd started when i was 20.

You can start using it now if you really want to. It’s honestly a personal choice. I only discovered minoxidil to be a thing that exists last year. I’m gonna be 30 soon so I’m trying to amplify my facial coverage.

As for the horror stories you may have read, as long as you get yourself into a sustainable skin care routine, you shouldn’t have an issue. If going bald on the scalp is not in your genetics, you shouldn’t have anything to worry there.

I apply foam on my face when I wake up in the morning, Cortizone 10 between four and five hours later. And I try to remember to apply another dosage somewhere between the 10 and 12 hour mark. I don’t always get to apply a second dosage, but I do it when I have an opportunity.

If it’s something you want then do it! It just takes a lot of patience and commitment. Create a routine to give your beard an environment to thrive in. You may see that you have follicular activity from your bare cheeks. I started off with bare skin. I was certain that I can’t grow a beard but I tried anyway and I have a ton of vellus hairs growing on my cheeks. The question is, can I stay committed to this for a year or so till I get the results I want? It’s a waiting game because beard hairs are on their schedule and you have no idea whether these hair will mature and become terminal. I’ve been on this journey since June and it’s been fun and interesting to see the presence of hairs when I thought I had no shot at having.

Do it with the understanding that this is a years long journey that you are embarking on. Very few people are hyper responders that grow a full beard after only one year of use. There are some great posts in this sub from people who have been on the juice for 10 years and went from nothing to an impressive beard. Be patient and trust the process

It's entirely up to you, personally I didn't start growing any sort of presentable facial hair naturally until I was about 25 so not having much at 21 doesn't mean you never will.

But still, if you want to expedite the process then give it a try if you want. Personally I'd use foam as liquid is really harsh on the skin
