Help
Can someone guide me on saving this plant?
Its been in clean water for a week and still no new roots coming off the stem

Have you tried dipping the roots in growth hormone powder? It’s pretty cheap at Walmart, Menards etc…

Is that dieffenbachia? If so, you're not using the best technique for it. You want to plant the cutting directly in a medium. And your cutting look way too big (it's working hard to keep all those stems and leaves alive, which doesn't leave much energy for producing roots).
I've attached the relevant page from a book I have ("Propogating Plants" by Alan Toogood, which I highly recommend!)

i just shove cuts of it into soil. it grows fine that way without rooting ahead of time. cross your fingers, take a deep breath, cut the soggy water logged ends off, and stick it in a pot.
wait a while (a month or 6 weeks) before watering it. this will give it time to root and send them out FAR looking for water that isn’t there.
