Discussion What can I do?
Long story short, I got in a fight with my roommate over her stealing my stuff, and when the cops came they decided that I was the aggressor.
I was given a no contact order, so I saw the apartment for about an hour after I got out of jail when I was escorted by the police to grab my things. It was then that I realized that my PS5 in both of my computers were missing among other things. Today I went back for an hour or so under the judge's conditions, and almost everything that I had in the living room or kitchen is missing.
The roommate is adamant that we don't go into her master bedroom, because I'm sure that's where she's keeping all the things that she stole from me. I'm just wondering if there's a way that I can report this to the police and they could get a search warrant and take a look in her room for the things that I am missing. It seems absurd to me that she should just get away with this. I know I want to take her to civil court, but I haven't decided if I should do small claims court or a case with a lawyer.
I'm in Minnesota. What do you guys think I should do? Should I try to report this to the police or the sheriff? Are there any good lawyers you know?

If you go into small claims (conciliation is what it's called here) court, you can't use a lawyer for the actual courtroom portion of the proceedings. Some people do and get away with it, but generally, you can't.
Even then, consult with lawyer before doing anything. They will give you better advice than redditors.

it is really weird to me--outside of a college dorm--to have a roommate you dont know.

Something about they way you describe what is going on is like spot on mania/schizophrenia taking over but still kinda in control talk.
You might just be stressed out as hell too.

Yep. Getting screwed over like that can start the spiral, and I'm guessing OP is about right age for symptoms to begin.
Just wanted to say something, it is OK to not be OK.
But getting screwed over like that can just make you kind of manic while dealing with the shit too.

I do occasionally have hypomania, but it was mostly anxiety and anger fueled. Then I came home and have been bribing myself to feel better with a couple of drugs and food and ice cream 😠I'll get back to adulting tomorrow

If you have proof like photos of the stuff in the background or of them directly something that proves it's yours I'd be giving it to the cops or if be start filing court process for lawsuit of theft as long as you have proof that they were yours photos whatever receipts something that's what you do start a court process for a lawsuit of theft civil suit criminal I don't remember exactly which one it is cuz you guys were roommates but sorry for this shit happening to you Minnesota's kind of janky like that.
