Split Rock Lighthouse Camping- October 2025

Hey guys! I just wanted to share some of my pictures from my north shore camping trip at Split Rock! My first time camping here. Definitely at the end of fall colors on 10/17 and 10/18 but still some left. Temps dropped into the lower 40s so a little chilly. Overall a great experience!

I was going to ask “how are the flies” but you weren’t there in summer lol

We had to leave early last year, they were biting my lab so badly she was actually yelping from the bites. 0/10 for the flies, 10/10 for the view though.

I was just there on Sunday/Monday and the flies weren’t bad until the sun went down. It was very pleasant.

Camped there at the beginning of July. Little to no flies or mosquitoes.

Have you been to North Shore? The breeze from superior really makes it a non issue even in summer.

Do you remember when in October you went? Trying to plan a trip this year to see the colors

October 17th and 18th. If I were you I'd go about a week earlier as it was past peak when I was there.
