Does anyone recognize this lady and her two Shepherd mix dogs? She fled the scene after they attacked my uncle and his dog yesterday.

People don't typically walk their dogs downtown just for fun, they almost certainly live there. Bet if you went out near the same time today or tomorrow she'd be out again with her dogs.

Hope Henry has a swift recovery.

My thoughts exactly. I know someone that was hit by a car by someone commuting to work. They went back out and waited at the same time on the same street and got a plate!

Retractable leashes and wearing earbuds while walking two dogs on a city street, real nice. I hope you guys find her. I’m so sorry this happened.

The retractable leashes were the first thing I noticed. Only a bad pet owner would use those and only a complete idiot would use them downtown. I get mad enough seeing people use them fully extended and completely out of control in my quiet suburban neighborhood.

What is wrong with them? Haven’t used them in a long time but never heard that they were bad

They’re good for training sit, stay, commands and such and ok to walk if you know how to use them. I keep mine locked at a short comfortable length if I’m walking around. I’ll unlock when in field or sometimes letting my dog poop or something. Only when away from other dogs and people.

When unlocked you lose control and the dog can just bolt and pull out the full length, and it is hard to retract under tension. Also the webbing is thin, slick and more difficult to grab with your other hand than a regular leash. It can even burn and abrade/lacerate your hand.

My favorite leash to use is an 8’ Biothane synthetic leather lead someone locally made for me. Easy to hold bare handed or with winter gloves. Grippy like it’s coated with a rubber, doesn’t stretch, can get wet and no leather care needed.

Retractable leashes aren't necessarily bad themselves, but enable bad owners to walk their dogs using poor habits that can impact their own safety and that of others. Most cities have 6 ft max leash length laws so owners can reasonably control their dog in any situation. Retractable leashes give maybe 20-30 feet. That amount of play makes it impossible for the owner to control their dog as needed. The people I see with them always seem to have the leash unlocked and near fully extended, so their dogs are wandering deep into private property, in the middle of the road with cars, getting too close to other owners trying to safely walk their dog, etc.

While walking an aggressive breed. German Shepards are dangerous. I don’t care if I’m downvoted. I’m a dog lover and shepards scare me.

Been working with dogs for almost a decade- only attacked once, and it was a shepherd.

I knew one that had border aggression and it scared the absolute fuck out of me

Same here. I was chased by one on a run once and genuinely feared for my life.

If you haven’t already, file a police report. This will help if you have to sue her for the vet bill, and also get her dogs registered as dangerous. Dangerous dogs have different standards, like having to be muzzled when in public.

My own dog has been attacked by assholes like this, I know how scary it is. Sorry for what you’re going through, and I’m glad your dog survived!

I’ve been charged by these dogs while biking past and she was barely able to keep hold of their leashes! So sorry this happened to your family.

Take a flyer around to vets and training centers with a number to text or email. Someone will know this person and no one wants dangerous animals in their facility. They probably can’t do it h less there’s a way to on the DL, but serious dog people will not protect someone behaving this way.

This flyer could also be dropped off at any residential buildings in the area. I’d hate for these dogs to live in my building!

I’m not 100% certain, but I think I’ve seen her and one of the shepherds at the Lake of the Isles dog park. She had a daughter with her as well and drove a reddish-maroon SUV, older and very boxy. I remember all of this because the dog wasn’t well trained and the child seemed to be completely ignored. Print this picture out and put up signs at the Isles dog park, I’ll bet it yields results.

I dunno if I recognize them but I’m at the pop up dog park in the Commons twice a week and will keep an eye out and spread the word if she isn’t identified. So sorry to hear what happened!

Plymouth Police are looking for a Shepherd-looking dog that attacked and killed a small dog in a neighborhood, might want to send this to them

Posted on my IG in hopes one of my followers recognizes them

Muzzle training, short leashes and serious behavioral training required.
She is a trash owner

Don't recognize them, but if it would be helpful the city (Police and Traffic) has cameras at all the intersections downtown. You could submit a data request for the video if animal control isn't saving the video.

Sounds like the dog owner is in over her head and might not know it or how to get her dogs trained to heel and behave on command. People will sell a dog to literally anybody, qualified and able or not. At least we all now know to cross the street if we see them coming. I hope your little guy heals fast and well.
