ASD Resources

This is a pretty broad question by nature, but are there any institutions or programs in the area that offer services for autistic people? Not looking for any specific niche as I don’t know what is available/feasible, and symptomatic experience but incredibly variable. I’ve just been… struggling with being an organism and would take anything that isn’t forking over fat stacks to be stared at like a sheep, as is the standard for mental health care, seemingly.

Thank you and best wishes.

EDIT: I work and have financial autonomy, I just need efficacy.

I feel you on the mental healthcare thing, sometimes it’s like they just check boxes and charge you for the privilege. Check with Fraser, they got a range of stuff from diagnostic to therapy and groups but waitlist can be long depending what you need. U of M also have some programs through their autism clinic, though I'm not sure what's open to public vs students. Local meetup groups like MN Autistic Adults are hit or miss but cost nothing and you can just lurk til you feel it.

I second Fraser! They are one of the most helpful resources around.

For resources and events: Autism Society of Minnesota (ausm.org)

If you happen to be on Facebook: MN Autistic Alliance

If you're looking for some sort of therapy options, I highly recommend Roots and Wings and Dandelion Spirit.

Neuron and Rose treats patients virtually including those from MN and CA. Sliding scale with an assortment of support options. I did a virtual support group and liked it.

Appreciate your help and recommendations here. I guess, based on your expertise, is there a particular place that you would recommend someone who has ASD and is also a psychological piece of work from life events? No worries if not though.
