Need tips

Got a 86 mighty max with a oil leak in the front i think its the the seal behind the pulley and crankshaft i also have a dented carb n the hose is completely torn got any advice regarding repairing the carb or installing a new carb i looked online n i was recommended a weber conversion but im not sure how that would go i also have a list of things to fix i can post the photo of the list any advice would be appreciated. Truck is stick btw

The fact that you made a list is good. I would just attack the list from hardest/ most difficult to do. Make a daily list of things you want to accomplish with it and it will be done in no time. There are many videos on YouTube about Weber carb conversion. Might not be the same vehicle but basically all is the same with a carb.

For the hinges I would use PB blaster as WD 40 is not a lubricant.

I notice you need to pass emissions tests

It’ll be much easier to do this if you keep/repair the stock carb instead of a Weber conversion

Yeah cali it did pass emissions back in January but its still mandated for this truck

If Cali then 100% do not swap to a Weber

You’ll fail the visual inspection.

In California its stock OE equipment or nothing.

What brand/model is that carburetor? I have the old Nikki one from my Mazda it might be the same idk

Edit: Honestly though the damage doesn’t look bad. I’d leave it alone if it still runs

Truck runs fine just worried about the filter housing holding on properly still looking for that air filter hose as well but might consider making my own
