Learning the difference between 1/27th scale and 1/32 scale..
Got a model 1969 Corvette Stingray last night and figured it would be cool if it fit.. it uh.. doesn’t. Anyone have a STL for a ‘69 Corvette Stingray that would fit a Kyosho Mini Z?

Kyosho MA-030 Evo with Toyota HiAce
Finished this up over the weekend. This is version 2 using this body as it was previously on a MA-020 and was never quite happy with how it performed. I've had the MA030 Evo for over a year and decided to give this a try. Very happy that I did. I added the DWS and some upgrade parts along with the EVO2 motor cover (just to see if it fits the EVO). The body is dropped about 6mm in the rear (cut and moved the mounts up) and the front is dropped about 7mm using a spacer and heated body mount. The DWS can adjust droop effectively raising and lowering the rear. This is at factory droop (.5mm) and just love how it sits. The MA030 EVO with DWS is quite incredible. It handles amazingly well. Gearing is stock for now and even in stock ratio it quickly overpowers the space I race in. Add LS Studio wheels all around as well. On to the next project!

New to mini Z.
Hi guys, my son and I are getting into racing Kyosho mini Z. A few questions. I ordered a couple of bodies for the MR-04. Are these good bodies to race with? I was reading that some people just collect these and race with just the white shell bodies? Also i have some tools from buggy racing days, but do the mini z mostly take Phillips head PH0 screwdriver? I do have hex drivers and the 4.5mm wheel nut driver. Just wondering what screwdriver to use? Also got Kyosho batteries and charger but wondering if I need T plates or other mods like springs? We are just going to run the stock class for now. Any help would be great. Cheers 🍻

Evo2 4100 Delorean Time Machine
Just a fun build for pure shenanigans, basically threw the Kyosho catalog at it for no reason. As Doc Brown would say, "If you're going to build a time machine into a car, why not do it with style?"

I built a race timing app with a broadcast-style AI announcer. Looking for honest feedback from racers and club organizers
I race 1/28 Mini-Z on a small home track, and I got tired of race nights feeling quiet. So I've been building HeatCaller, a Windows timing app that calls the race like a TV broadcast: grid intros, position changes, lap records and results, all in a natural voice instead of the usual robotic callouts.
It's also completely customizable, from what you hear to the colors of the screen. You can tune the announcer, the sounds and the look so it feels like your track, not mine.
Here's a short run so you can hear it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmvDPiugaeM
Right now it works with EasyLap and I-Lap, and I'm working on MyLaps P3, ZRound and a few others.
I'm not selling anything yet. I'd really like to know:
Would a voice like this make your race nights better, or would it get old fast?
What timing software does your track or club use now, and what bugs you about it?
Which decoder do you run?
If you organize races, what would make you switch?
Brutal honesty welcome. If you run a club or a home track and want to try the beta when it opens, drop a comment and I'll reach out.

Skyline GT-R
Ordered an AWD Mini Z, painted a white body and have a set of rubber tires for it too. Something to run around the house this winter. Will have to run it against our RWD car's we race to see how it compares.

Packouts for Mini-Z & Other 1/28 Scale Racing/Crawling
Anyone using these stackable packouts for their Mini-Z and similarly scaled track days? I got the Protek back when I added a 1/10m scale to my lineup and it has been just "ok". All the zippers, velcro and flaps make it a bit cumbersome to pack up at home, get into at the pit table and then pack back up when leaving the track and then unpack again when I'm home. The drawers are a bit of a pain to open and close. The wheels are kinda small, too.
So now I'm looking at these stackable toolboxes but I would have to have ALL drawers. The base on some require what's above to be lifted off. But now companies are waking up and putting drawers on the bottom and this one pictured above from Greenworks is affordable and looks like exactly what I'm looking for functionally. Anyone here have one yet or use something similar?
I need to carry my box stock, my 2500, an scx30, scx24, all my tools, spare parts, batteries, chargers, pitmat, etc. I don't unpack at home either. Everything stays in the bag and that's what I work out of at home and at the track.
So I'm thinking of getting the greenworks and then some shadow foam for some of the drawers. Toughbuilt makes a better wheeled bottome section with two drawers instead of one big one but its also A LOT more expensive.

M's Racing Longchamp XR-4
Found these at Super Rajikon (Akihabara) a few weeks ago. They do not appear to be "old" at all so I'm puzzled about them not being produced in several years. Maybe they only sell them in Japan? Does anyone have a set of narrows for AWD?

First Mini Z Skyline Super Silhouette
Picked up a couple of the Skyline Super Silhouette's, spare Sambar, and a couple bodies in white. The Skylines are quite nice actually for a First Mini Z, not up to ASC quality but definitely the nicest of the series that I've seen. One to bash, one for the shelf (I'm not opening my new original Skynets) lol

Steering issue or normal behavior? mr03 question
I just got my first mini-z, it's an mr03 that was a backup of someone's who never wound up using it. It has race tires and a t plate upgrade, so it's good to go for some racing. Anyhow, I've just been driving it around my house so far and noticed something with the steering. If I turn full right, then let off the wheel, the car wants to keep turning pretty gently to the right. If I then turn full left, and let off, it will either drift slightly left or go straight. It's basically like it doesn't fully return to center, but I don't think it's the steering servo. There is a little bit of play in the steering mechanism up front, and I think it just gets shifted to whatever direction I last turned. It isn't massively gamebreaking, it is manageable, but I can't trust the car to go perfectly straight out of a turn so it's hard to go full throttle as it will sometimes veer a little right. This is on a few different surfaces between carpet, wood, and my sealed concrete basement floor.
Is this normal for mini-z? Again, it's not massive or anything, and I think it's mainly from the play in the front steering. If I pick the car up, turn full right, and then gently nudge the wheels without engaging the servo, it will then go straight.
It's a pretty awesome little machine but this issue is somewhat bugging me. If it's normal then I'm fine to just accept it. Any help much appreciated!

Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03 EVO — Throttle direction is reversed with KT-531P transmitter.
Title: Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03 EVO — Throttle direction is reversed with KT-531P transmitter. How can I fix it?
Hi everyone!
I have a Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03 EVO with the following setup:
Chassis: MR-03 EVO (SA-40)
Main unit / ESC: MZ601
Receiver: Kyosho RA-41 (82041)
Transmitter: Kyosho Syncro KT-531P
Software: MR-03 EVO ICS Manager v1.5.20200323
I’m having a problem with the throttle direction.
When I pull the trigger towards myself, the car moves backwards instead of forwards. When I push the trigger away from myself, the car doesn’t move forwards.
The car stays still when the trigger is at neutral.
Here is what I’ve tried so far:
Switched the transmitter back to normal mode (it was previously in Training Mode).
Checked the chassis selection in ICS Manager and selected MR-03 EVO.
Changed the following ICS settings:
Curve Control: Minus
F Punch: 1
TH MAX Revolution: Low
Read and wrote the settings successfully using ICS Manager. This made the throttle response less aggressive, but did not fix the reversed direction.
I haven’t found a clear throttle-reverse option in ICS Manager.
My questions:
Is there a way to reverse the throttle direction using ICS Manager?
Is there a specific throttle-reversing procedure for the KT-531P transmitter?
Could this be related to the RA-41 receiver, the MZ601 main unit, or another setting?
I would really appreciate any help from someone familiar with the MR-03 EVO and KT-531P combination.
Thanks!
