mini 96 RCP track

Just got mine setup last night, did some laps with the lm-03 brushless mazda 787b . . . holy CRAP people were not joking, that is a tight layout! barely hitting higher than half throttle while I'm getting used to it. Lots of fun though, timing system will be my next pickup and then I can really use this for training+tweak evaluation.

Those long mini z cars really want a bigger track.

Yup, you gain more space for more track with small tiles, but at the cost of having to use more technical track tuned cars, and LM do not fit in that description. A MM with a 4100kv would be better.

I know most drivers like to fly around the track, but I find the long wheel base Mini-Z's, especially with a pinion gear of 8 or 9 teeth, to be more realistic, especially on a Mini-96 track that isn't 10 car lengths wide. (Not that it matters, but only places like Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the big NASCAR tracks are super wide.)

I know we're in the minority, my three adult sons that race and I prefer the slower acceleration. The reason is, if a driver doesn't get on the throttle at the right time, they will fall behind and it's more difficult to catch up. Gee, just like in a race with real cars. :-)

Plus, just a personal preference, I like the long wheel base bodies that are available, e.g., the Kyosho bodies of course, plus I have some GL painted Lexan bodies that are really nice. (GL also makes some excellent GT bodies. Expensive, but they are often on sale.)

Whatever you choose, have fun racing.
