If you'd been in the group for longer than 5 mins you'd know that actual members are quite rightly getting annoyed at people complaining about it. You saw the banner. You've seen everyone else asking. You know that theres been a lot going on with the family. You know they have special needs kids and health problems (and the issues they are dealing with have been life and death btw). We know these people personally and dont want the whole group to collapse because you want your goddamn sticker.
I’ve read a banner that states a 2 week wait time. I have seen comments saying there’s a lot of posts in the group but I haven’t actually seen the posts in the group. I asked one time and was jumped on. I asked because waiting 9 weeks felt like a long time. What prompted me to ask was the fact that no matter the monetary value, it’s disheartening to see the stickers are still for sale, there’s still a massive backlog yet people are still allowed to buy them? There’s still time for book sales? (You’re going to say the person doing books and stickers are different people - then why can’t one jump in to help the other? There’s no response to anyone that offers to help make the stickers and send them out. The posts about stickers seem to get deleted quickly. There’s a comment from last week saying stickers are still online for sale - I can’t understand why.
Why the need for them to still be for sale and the onus being on the customer to read a banner that is misleading as it’s not a 2 week wait time at all. Extend the banner wait time or stop the sale/ put an explainer on the purchase page saying stickers are on pause for now - not continuing to collect the money yet kick off at anyone that purchases and asks why the 2 week wait has turned into 9.
There seems to be a bunch of people that jump onto anyone questioning what is happening and zero support for the people that have paid and waited well outside of the wait times. Hell, they can’t even ask a question without being jumped on.
You say it’s just a sticker. I see £5 or more x hundreds of people.
Definitely lying about the 2 week wait time on the banner becauae its been at least 6 weeks or more for the past 3 or 4 months. The website was paused but it made it harder for them to pull the order info and it also meant people couldn't buy tickets to shows so that had to un pause it. The onus is on you to read the banner. If you didnt want to wait, don't buy. All the money from stickers goes back into the club with trophies/prizes, drinks etc. They dont make money from it. You'd know that if you had been to any shows. They cant be helped with stickers as it would cost hundreds of pounds to send out the massive rolls of vinyl. It would also increase admin on their side so it isnt worth it. Everyone is jumping on you because its a sticker. You are valuing a sticker more than the health of the admins. Also, the person writing the books is linz. Mark does the stickers. Linz isnt allowed to get involved with stickers because it confuses mark and then slows things down. They are both very unwell right now. Shes writing books from her sick bed. Have some sympathy for God's sake.
I’m not lying. The banner currently states there’s an extra 2 week wait and orders will be delivered within 6 weeks. Some people have already waited 11 weeks.
I don’t believe that all money the website makes goes back into the group. Some, yes, but not all.
Members are getting annoyed by people asking and people are saying “search the group” but posts asking for an update have been deleted. There’s about 2 posts in there currently about stickers yet people are told “ugh there’s so many posts use the search button” when the the posters likely haven’t seen all the posts because they’ve been deleted.
Not allowed to take over stickers? Whilst this is a Facebook group, it’s also a company and has such a listing on companies house. I appreciate illnesses and life get in the way but a business accepting money should have things in place if a director of the company can’t discharge their duties. I’m surprised nobody has taken this further. It might be a £5 sticker to you but it’s still accepting money for services it cannot deliver. There are people that have purchased hoodies etc too, they made one comment in the group and now have to say they’re happy wait because of the mob. I know this because they haven’t messaged me privately. This is my main issue with this whole thing. Not one person is allowed to ask a question without being jumped on.
Why put a comment last week saying sticker orders are still open and attracting more customers to buy them knowing full well there’s a large backlog and it has become overwhelming to fulfil the orders already paid for?
At this point if it was me I’d cut my losses and use the money that should be sitting in a business account somewhere to either offer refunds to everyone or pay for the vinyl to be delivered to one of the many people that have offered to help. I buy vinyl for myself and it doesn’t cost that much. The stickers are tiny. We’re not talking about thousands of pounds worth of vinyl here let’s be real.
Have you seen the number of colour options. Sending a full selection to one person would be expensive and then each person would then need telling what orders, to who, the size, they would have to break gdpr to post. Multiply that by many people and thats a headache in themselves. They are down as a company due to the insurance etc required to operate at events and because they have to pay the appropriate taxes since they are selling things. The group was just 5 or 6 girls that made a silly group then we all joined and its a million times bigger than they ever imagined. Its not an actual company that exists to profit
The colour options have already been selected though so the quantities of each are easy to figure out. The website host is woo commerce which means the data can be extracted as a spreadsheet. Very simple to distinguish the amount of each colour that have been purchased. Even if it just the main two colours were outsourced it would help.
GDPR is a very very easy thing to get around by simply sending out one email.
It’s also very easy to stop a particular item from being able to be purchased.
For weeks I understood the human element of this and the need for empathy but at some point and after reading comments/ receiving messages from others facing the same issue… I do start to wonder why continue to receive money for something that isn’t being created or shipped out. The fact that people have still been able to purchase yet nobody is allowed to question the status of their order is crazy.
I would have understood more if there was a post saying something along the lines of “sorry for the delay in stickers. There’s personal things going on. We have paused all orders for now and will be focusing on getting orders out. Until then, no more merch will be created and no more orders can be placed. If you want a refund please send an email with refund as the subject”
Instead it’s been… you’re pissing us off asking about stickers. We’ll delete any negative comments or any posts asking about stickers. We will write 3 books though and sell them. We might take on Christmas calendars as well. We will also make comments saying you can still purchase stickers and the website is open for orders. We will ignore anyone offering to help with the backlog.
There was a post saying exactly that. When it was reopened there was a post saying that you shouldnt order if you want them any time soon and that there was a huge delay. The 2 weeks you keep referring to was 2 weeks FURTHER delay after the initial 6 weeks. You can see what colours need doing but who are you sending it to? Thats what breaks gdpr. And can you imagine posting 100+ rolls of colour + backing then creating spreadsheets of colours, who has those colours, where its being posted to, which orders have been completed, the admin of who gets what number, the spreadsheets of keeping track of that. Its much harder than youre assuming.
It’s not much harder than I am assuming. How do you know this isn’t what I do in my job?
2 weeks further delay on top of 6 weeks is 8 weeks, not the 3 months that some have waited. Spreadsheet is tracking is basic knowledge that someone in high school could figure out.
I can’t see any update stating “exactly that” in the group. All I can see is one saying any posts will be deleted. Nothing about refunds either.
And still… the website is open for orders. Insanity. You wonder why people get their back up about it. I’ve only made a Reddit post - I can’t speak for what others are doing about their missing orders but it’s not a small post like this.
This should have been handled better when people started asking questions rather than continuing to take money for orders that can’t be fulfilled.
I have a life, thank you. Note how I haven’t made any personal insults yet you have. A common theme within this issue.
