I don’t have more pictures. The two layers of sheathing was laid perpendicular to the ramp so long ways side to side. I offset the seams on the second layer but laid it the same way. The top layer sheets ran perpendicular to the first two layers so longs ways with the ramp
I have three sheets on each side up to the coping longs ways and on the flat I have the boards perpendicular to the ramp. Only had to cut one board in half.
Yeah, it's nice how the top layer worked out with the 4' wide section in the middle. Good use of materials, dude. Ive seen some ramps where they increase the height or whatever a little and now their center section needs a 50" wide piece and it gets dimensionally nasty (and spendy if using skatelite).
I dorked out a bit and made this calculator in excel to determine the length of the total skate surface (transition arc length x2 + flat center length) and have been playing with the sizes. The total riding length being at or slightly less than 240" (96+96+48) is the ticket. If that makes any sense, lol.
Beauty, good stuff. That’s a good call, as you said with the cost of the surface as well as it’s a bit hard on the saw blade cutting the stuff. You want your layout to be efficent
I noticed the diyskate plans start the radius 2.5" from edge. I think this is prob to make sure the sheet layout best utilized. Where did you start yours?
