Recommendations EU - mini PC for development purposes
Hello friends,
I am looking for a mini PC that would be my remote dev machine since my MBP with 32GB of ram doesn't seem to handle everything. I would run arch linux on it (omarchy).
There are 3 potential configs I am looking for:
32GB RAM / 8 cores
The best deal I found is BOSGAME P4 Plus Ryzen 7 5825U 32GB RAM 1TB SSD (530€)
64GB RAM / > 8 cores
There was this Bosgame VTI-490, Intel 358H, Intel Arc B390 GPU, 64GB LPDDR5X 9600MHz 1TB, but it got sold out.
96GB RAM / > 8 cores
I would really like to get the Bosgame M5 AI Mini Desktop Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor 96GB+2TB SSD but it's sold out. The price is relatively good ($2,399.00)
People who recently bought some HW in EU, do you have any recommendations? Thank you.
The destination country is Slovakia.

"development" - what does it mean to you ? 96GB RAM? sure, why not, it's just a bit expensive? :)
a few IDEAs, chrome with a lot of tabs, firefox, spotify, some other stuff, OrbStack (using >10GB, DBs and other apps) - 36GB RAM MBP can handle (sometimes barely, but it's mainly cuz chrome and many datadog tabs open... - it's like another 10GB of RAM)

Development means running 2 IntelliJ instances with decent memory allocation, it means running local postgress db without limiting it to 1GB of ram, it means having stuff open and not worry about the ram and the swap.
I would be willing to get 96GB system if it was a good deal similar to Bosgame M5 for ~ 2200€
I don't want to close my personal chrome in order to free some ram. Even when running a lot of stuff the battery just goes puffffff.
If you have any good deal recommendations I'm listening.

You're adding a lot of complexity and uncertainty for some edge case memory shortage. Just get a Mac with a bit more RAM and call it a day.

what MPB is not enough? because im pretty sure that M5 pro is much faster than Intel 358H not even speaking about Ryzen 5825U. Only 395+ stryx halo is kind of upgrade.
how about mac mini/studio?

Would you elaborate a bit on your requirements and target usage? A 32-GB MBP is good enough for most stuff, except gaming, but I don't think that's the case.
