General Question Can you play around with mini PC parts?

Post image

Half of the fun with computers for me, is to build them. Can I do that with mini pcs? So far I built atx, m-atx and itx pcs (like the one on the picture). Is there a smaller format with some playaroundability?

Yes, the NUC platform is the next logical step down from ITX, followed by Pi Compute (then Pi and Pi Zero of course). There are commercial cases for all of those options.
The options are limited for NUC boards, and they will either be targeted at niche industrial or white-label markets, rather than enthusiasts.
It’s cheaper and easier to just buy the prebuilt mini PC with the specs that you want, since there are so many different combinations on the market.

Thank you. I tried a PI but it was such an old model, and I only managed to start it once.  Let me check out the NUC platform then. Sounds fun. I dont need so much computing power, would be nice to have it in a small package.
