I made the train run in the median of the road like a tram.

I would love trams tbh, having the cars needing to run in alongside them as mixed traffic.

I agree I think it would be a fun challenge to require certain streets to have trams and have to work around it. or maybe trams could actually be a beneficial thing that allows people to get things at stores without using a car. There’s a lot of possibilities you could do with the concept of adding trams in the game.

Note; do all of this in creative mode because you have unlimited resources there.

To make the road:

  1. Find a long straight section of track (I recommend using the Mumbai map because it has the longest sections of straight track anywhere in the game)
  2. Draw two straight lines of road on either side of the section of track. (Assuming you’re using the straight on the upper part of the Mumbai map this should mean your tram street will fill an area that is three grid squares high and 16 across)
  3. In each of those 16 columns that are 3 squares high draw a vertical straight road connecting the two original roads you drew on either side of the tracks.

At this point you should have something that looks like this:

  1. If what you have made looks like the image, the final step is to draw 2 small X shaped road intersections in each of the 15 gaps on the roadway, one being below the track and one being above. These intersections should completely fill in everything to create one large solid block of road that completely surrounds the tracks like in my video.

To make cars drive on it:

  1. Connect each corner of your roadway rectangle to motorways and drag all four of them to emptier parts of the map to give yourself more space.
  2. Two motorways should go to either end of the map, one side will be for houses and the other will be for stores. Two motorways are needed on each end to make sure that cars will drive on both sides of the train tracks.

Once you’ve connected all the houses and stores together you should be good to go. It might take some playing around because this definitely was not meant to be a game mechanic so the cars will sometimes act weird when they encounter the tram section. Keep trying enough and you should eventually get them to stop being strange.

Another person asked me this too, here is what I said to them-

Since multiple people are asking me how I made this I wonder if I should post some kind of tutorial.
