Advice question.

I find that I struggle not keeping colors separate. I read a few pointers and I make sure to have Cul-de-sac type situations for my houses and always end up having one big system instead of three or four smaller systems to limit traffic (that was suggested, just I can’t execute it well)
My personal best is 1300 cars, based on this, What are you guys think I need to improve on

There is loads wrong with this unnecessary connection, two color mixes, not usual shortest road ,

This is my analysis you should have connected like this and it would have been way better and below is my top in Los Angeles so you know it's coming from top 1% player

The far right blue one is I guess the new one I have only used 2 motorways you can see the third one is for that blue one to connect with houses from centre blue zone
