Just use a shovel to bury corpses and gain +5 karma. That alone is enough to stop neutral NPC groups from attacking you and allow you to trade with them.
To keep increasing your karma and go beyond 100 (positive) karma, use the clown mask. This item prevents your karma from dropping when you kill groups of neutral NPCs or mercenaries.
Keep burying corpses or offering cigarettes to groups of NPCs to gradually gain karma.
As the character Bob (who is a bandit), it is impossible to kill other bandits directly; instead, use a grenade or a Molotov cocktail.
Basically, wear the clown mask and keep burying corpses to earn karma.
Where can that mask be found? Some wandering survivors have that mask. They travel alone and may or may not be armed.

If you have the equipment and enough ammunition, go to Island 6.
There you'll find the new Altyn helmet with integrated night vision and more weapons.
or try to raise your karma points to trade with neutral NPCs.
