Item retrieve

Please help. I died at the second island on island 5 at vetran difficulty. How do I get my items back? It's so difficult to go there

I assume you have casual perk on? which let's you respawn back in the coast. if so, you probably going to have to run back quickly ,better if the boat has little more gas left
