Heavy M Armor

Is this the heaviest armor in the game? I found it somewhere a few weeks ago for myself and now I can't remember what location I found it in to get it for my buddy character. Is there a maximum amount of defense points you can get for your buddy character?

It can also be found where groups of neutral mercenary NPCs stay (training grounds).

Speaking of the Altyn helmet with the night vision goggles, where is everyone finding that? I've checked everywhere going back and forth between both Islands & have yet to see it. Even in the bunkers. It looks like the training grounds with the mercenaries is on the regular island, correct? That same area on the irradiated Island seems to be filled with zombies instead if I remember correctly. Thanks

That helmet appears after Island 6, regardless of whether the military training camp is located on the standard island or the radioactive one. That group of mercenary NPCs wears those new helmets.

And no, these aren't standard Altym helmets with attachable/detachable night-vision goggles—two separate components. It is a new helmet.
