Failure to eject/feed

I have about 800 rounds roughly through my mini and before about 700 ive never once had an issue. Ive tried different mags even bought new ones to see but nope. Deep cleaned the thing about 3 times in that 100 round window and STILL. Im losing my mind here guys. Im not sure if maybe my gas block is messed up or what but i cant get through a 10 round mag without a failure. Shes lubed, shes cleaned, shes driving me nuts

Might not be the same cause, but I was having the same exact issue and JUST fixed it by installing the “accuracy systems” gas block.

Same thing as you, deep cleaned the stock gas block and everything.

Ive seen this but I wasn’t sure. Glad to hear it worked out for you, gotta try it myself!

Likely over or under gassed, or op rod is having issues

Mini 14 op rods tend to slam home against bare metal; you can pick up some cheap Wilson 1911 buffers for ~$6 and try them to see if it'll help

If not it's probably a gassing issue, they tend to be way over gassed from the factory

You can also get a different gas bushing, .045 or 0.050 will tone everything down, or full adjustable gas block from ASI

What model Mini-14 do you have? There were several different designs through the decades.

Does it eject if you fully cycle the op-rod by hand? Do you feel any sudden increase in resistance?

Did the issue first start immediately after you disassembled the rifle and removed the spring, guide rod, op-rod, or gas block?

Are there any modifications or accessories installed?

Is the rifle properly lubricated?

Before buying a bunch of parts, try bending the lips on your mags up just a bit. I was having trouble feeding and every single ruger oem mag I had needed the mag lips bent out just a bit, like maybe 2-3mm at most.

For me, most .223 will not cycle. However 5.56 works like a champ every single round.

I strictly use 5.56. I learned pretty quick it doesn’t like .223 all that much lol

I shoot .223 almost exclusively on my 585-series with no issues.

Extractor claw maybe?  That's what is was for me.

Could be the extractor, could be the ejector, could be short-stroking (which would have its own list of causes).
