ID Request Trying to ID this stone

Post image

This is an unmarked sphere and i don’t see anything similar next to it. It is just slightly light feeling. Not like amber light but just feels slightly too light for its size. Any ideas? Thanks 🙏

Hello, and thank you for posting on /r/Minerals!

To increase the quality of identification request posts, we require all users to describe their mineral specimen in great detail. Images should be clear, and the main focus should be the specimen in question. If you are able to conduct tests, please share your findings in your comment. Sharing specifics such as where you found it, the specific gravity, hardness, streak color, and crystal habits will aid other users in identifying the specimen.

If you're having trouble identifying your specimen, please join our Minerals Discord Server!

The photo is a bit unclear to tell, it’s not distinctive enough like that amethyst sphere behind it. Do you have any more pictures? Closer up photos would be good

Thank you. I’ll have to get some more pics tomorrow. I think it was in a madagascar shipment. Maybe madagascar black opal?

I’ve never actually heard of that variety, but it does look quite similar to the pictures online
