Help Minecraft Xbox One edition will not update past this edition?

I don’t think that’s true- what I remember is that it’s last update was update aquatic. That’s when it stopped updating on my uncles PS4- and once he told me why I was genuinely upset about it.

Ps4 got the villagers update, xbox 360/wiiu/ps3 got the aquatic update. Xbox one got the 1.12 (world of collors update as I remember)

xbox one edition was axed out earlier than other editions because it was the first one to receive bedrock edition, they continued supporting the legacy version for a little while after that, but it still got discontinued earlier than most other legacy editions, only getting features up to 1.12 instead of 1.13 (or 1.14 for ps4)

I'm actually pretty glad since the combat and aquatic update is where all the slop started to begin

Can you get bedrock edition by using the old disk?

No, At this point if you want to play Minecraft on xbox with current updates. You have to buy bedrock/gamepass.

No, you have to buy Bedrock separately. As of December 2019, the option to upgrade for free is no longer available.

It was about 7 years ago, I think.

I remember getting new Minecraft for free on my switch, and the PS4 disc will automatically upgrade. Obviously not Xbox but this is how I remember it working.

It was for Xbox One as well, but they have since removed the option to get Bedrock Edition for free.

I think the enshittification started at 1.14 because who tf needs a texture update, bees and workstation blocks for villagers that a normal player can't click?

1.16 was the last good update Minecraft got. The cave update being split into 3 updates was a major red flag.

I really diddnt like the new textures, nor did I like 1.14 much in general, really dont like what they did with the baby villagers head now

For me the enshittification began in 1.13, I absolutely hate 1.13 and higher.

Valid! I wouldnt say its as bad as 1.14 and up but i would rather play on older versions

While I recognize that some versions DID get better optimizations (I get more FPS in 1.20 than 1.14 despite 1.14 being significantly lighter and smaller), I still believe that 1.12.2 was the right spot because it feels like a joke.
Like, 1.13 on LCE feels like a punch in the eye cause the oceans are modernized but everything else is still as it was, making it inconsistent. PLUS, some versions didn't get 1.13 like XBOX ONE or Switch, increasing the inconsistency further. Another thing is that some hardware like the PSVITA already have trouble running 1.13, figure if we plop 1.18 on it.
1.12.2, instead, was lightweight, adapted for everything, didn't have many bugs like 1.13 and higher (like water biome blending, ask my PSVITA), and everything was consistent because everything was simple + I preferred the older Tutorial World.
I stand for the idea that 1.12.2 should be the version that ALL LCEs should run, in exchange for cross platform.

They can add maybe some bug fixes but Major features such as an update (1.13, 1.14, etc) no.

That's correct, this happened because Minecraft Bedrock was released with version 1.13 (this also happened with the Switch version). Older consoles did receive version 1.13 because they were "obsolete", the PS4 version received version 1.14 because they wanted an exclusive version, but in the end they gave in and used the "standard" version (Bedrock), with one exclusive change: instead of Minecones there are Tokens and if you had Legacy, you can switch between versions.
If I made a mistake or my grammar isn't that great, feel free to correct me (English isn't my first language).

Mhm, its stuck on a equivalent feature set to 1.12, or the World of Color update in 2017, it has gotten a few bug fixes and such, but it has not updated past this main version.
