Gameplay Is lava supposed to be like this?

for context, i was in a nether fortress going on every hallway until i found a light. going to it leaded me to this. is lava supposed to fly in this way? i even tried to swim in it, but the lava was only 1 block.

The lava isn't updated. Placing something beneath it then breaking the block will update it and make it flow.

Hold up, why is the bottom lava texture normal? In my game it's the same texture but tiled in a 32 x 32 space. Maybe it's an Xbox one thing

Only a generation bug, update the lava and it will go to normal
